What are the 387s working today? Looking at covering the Brighton Mainline on them if possible.

Cheers, couldn't see the ends of the unit, as was hiding behind the wall from my view on this 390. Imagine on way south from The factory?

Nope. Factory moves are diesel dragged from Derby to Bletchley via Bedford. What you saw is the AC commissioning run from Bletchley to Crewe via Wembley. Other commissioning path is Bletchley to Brighton and return.

Just seen the new working from Monday confirmed. There will be 14x 387 diagrams with only 5x 319 departures all day from Brighton in the week.

If we are down to 5 departures from Brighton for Class 319s, then if you work on 1 Class 319 a week coming off service then I would suspect that the week beginning 23rd March there should be no Class 319's doing Thameslink services.

This of course does also depend on how the Class 387's are being delivered.

Any idea when that is likely to be 0 x 319 departures from Brighton in the week?

I'd say no 319s by May as they attentions simply putting a 387 into a 319 diagram. They need to rewrite the diagrams around as many units swap between routes.

Current situation is 16x 387 have been in service with 387120 still to be in service. There is 14 required from Monday giving a float of 2 units with 1x 387 away for other duties.

Can you confirm which 5 weekday departure will remain as 319 as of Monday?
Thanks

AFAIK

Departures from Brighton at
07.00 / 19.08 / 23.02 / 23.36 / 00.10
With an empty at 22+22 to Blackfriars.

The departures from Bedford are at
03.42 / 16.08 / 17.54 / 19.54 / 20.22 / 20.52

However, the majority of the Three Bridges locals are 8.319.

Can anyone confirm today's workings for 387s or is it the same as weekdays?

Keep the decrepit 319s with the great unwashed north of St Pancras.

Its sensible planning as 319s need to stay on Sevenoaks and Sutton services to you keep the 319s where fellow class mates are incase of an issue. This won't change much until the arrival of the first 8 car 700.

14x 387 diagrams today. Haven't compared the working from today with weekdays tho.

Once all 387s have arrived, is it expected that there will be no diagrammed 319s on 'fasts' between St. Pancras and St. Albans?

Nope. There are fast services that go to Sutton and Sevenoaks and these will continue to be 319s.

If 387 121 has been in service but only 16 in total, where are the other units that haven't seen service?

If I recall correctly 387101-387104 and 387122-387129 have not seen service yet. That gives 17 units used and usable so far (i.e. 387105-387121 inclusive). OK perhaps 387120 is on other duties rather than in service. Class377/5 will have the correct info.

If the missing 387's have been released, some maybe doing standby duties possibly?

With others maybe still doing running tests, before being released to Thameslink?

387105-119/121 have been in service. Not been around to see if 120 is in service. There's still units damaged from the flood waters affecting availability. Plus one unit is out of the service pack for other duties.

Don't forget the 387s require maintenance like any other stock which is why you have a float of spare units to cover.

Don't you mean more maintenance - they were made in Derby after all! Replacing the door buttons that have fallen off must be quite time consuming for staff :p

The spares just floated off after the great Farringdon flood lol :D

Ok I apologise for the bad humour.

Nope. There are fast services that go to Sutton and Sevenoaks and these will continue to be 319s.

Does that mean that the Brighton line will be completely devoid of 319's by the time all 387's are delivered?

Which line will see the 700's first?
