Which station could give you the best possible score at Scrabble? DISALLOWED that long effort in Wales!!!!!!
Add Lee to that list. There is also
Ayr
Rye
IBM
Ely is the only one of the three-letter stations/towns to have won the international final of Jeux Sans Frontieres.
Remember that proper nouns are disallowed in Scrabble, so it would have to be an actual word as well. That said, University is the only one I can think of immediately, but only 66 scored (1 + 1 + 1 + 4 + 1 + 1 + 1 + 1 + 1 + 4 + 50), and three of the letters would have to already be on the board...I'll open the bidding with NEWQUAY for 72 points. (1+1+4+10+1+1+4 and 50 points for using all seven tiles)

Class 321 units still use bells for communication - they might be the only units to do so in everyday service

.
Trivial correction, but Reading wasnt two stations, Southern was separate.
But Victoria was, and arguably London Bridge as well.
There we go! There's probably others but the only one I can think of is Bowling near Bradford, but that's been closed for quite a while...
There are loads of acceptable Scrabble words as station names, but I can't think of any high-scoring ones.
What is par for the length of a station name?
If only there were stations called Birdie, Eagle and Albatross.

IBM is the only station that identically matches it's three letter code, and is the only station that is entirely capitalised (which makes the first fact valid!).
BBC News said:Proper nouns come into play in Scrabble rule change
The rules of word game Scrabble are being changed for the first time in its history to allow the use of proper nouns, games company Mattel has said.
Place names, people's names and company names or brands will now count.
Mattel, which brings out a new version of the game containing amended rules in July, hopes the change will encourage younger people to play.

The rules of scrabble were changed over 5 years ago to allow proper nouns.

The official station name is Llanfairpwll.
Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch wouldn't fit on the board. Even if it did, surely we'd use the Welsh Scrabble tile scores?
Wouldn't be enough 'ls' either
The Hue and Cry song Looking For Linda mentions Leeds Central and Paisley stations
I always thought they were singing about Leith Central, of Trainspotting fame and more likely for a Hue & Cry song, but I've checked the lyrics and indeed it's Leeds Central. I think it's called artistic licence!I thought of that song too but decided not to mention it, since there isn't a 'Paisley' station and Leeds Central closed in 1967.
Jewellery Quarter - the only station in England beginning with the letter J
And James Street too!
