I never recieved an email to re register. When i phoned up to ask whether i needed to re register they said there was no need as they have printed off all details of applicants in talent pool. Im awaiting Bedford. Had DMI and medical in May/June.

Well when i phoned up, they did say to re-apply as i received the same email that people who passed did. I had originally failed the DMI so i've no idea why they had sent me it and they told me to go ahead and apply.

Exactly the same here. Also failed DMI and got that email. Had a conversation with Trudy who said that our re-applications will be screened and we'll get another DMI if we pass the screening. Personally I have no idea when or even if that will ever occur! At a guess maybe they are still short of Candidates, know how many are queued in a talent pool and have assessed they may need more. It's been in the news a lot how short they are now. Imagine 2018 when they link Peterborough and Cambridge to Horsham and Worthing or wherever. 24 trains an hour through St Pancras. That's a lot of drivers.

Was speaking to a GN instructor last week, they are very short of instructors, hence the backlog, and yes postcodes are being used to prioritise.

I'm about to start my last week of core traction, they are pulling trainees through as quick as they can but there aren't enough DI's to go around at the moment. The group ahead of me have been waiting since Christmas for DI's, they've been out shadowing a driver instead of getting their hours in.

It's a waiting game guys, just hang in there, but there are more courses scheduled throughout the year.

Stop that!!

I did but wasn't the call I was waiting for. Looks like an admin mix up

Heart was racing for nothing. Does look like people who haven't had Medicals yet may be getting a call

Early summer for Bedford boys it seems

If you mean the call asking when can I start, nope... But I'll take the one offering me a medical. At least it means things are moving and it's another step nearer.

Well the call was for booking me in for a medical but I've already had mine

Applied February last year so waiting a couple of months is not a problem

I also applied in Feb and want Bedford. What exactly did Trudy say about courses for Bedford then? If there is when are they likely to be? You said about waiting a couple of months, so if thats true then surely they will need to make calls soon or am I just being hopeful!

If their giving medicals to people that haven't had them does that mean their straight in to courses?

I'd say they are replacing those in the TP who have already had their medicals and are due to be called upon imminently.

In other words everyone moves along a level

The only thing worrying me is the comment above about them using postcodes I live about 30 miles from Bedford station and I have been through the whole process and are the people going for Medicals now because they live closer

Exactly my thoughts! I'm in Desborough, so a stones throw from you dr1323!

You can't really get much further north than where we are without going over the 1 hour mark. Market Harbourough is about as far north as you can get within the hour, depending which site you use for directions.

I don't have a problem with the distance, as I won't be driving there all of the time, Kettering station is only a 15 min drive away.

The way I'm reading it is that they have done the distance thing recently for Kings Cross, but travelling in London is a different animal to travelling around here.

They have said that they aim to place us within 12 months, which takes us up to early summer. And it sounds like they're on track to do that. Pardon the pun!
