Or could that be one of the ones due to head to the land of the flat sausage (Scotland) less a coach to become 320/4s?

Im not sure if this is the right thread. I was pretty surprised to see an UID class 321 (looked to be in First livery) hiding amongst all the demics in the yard at Leicester yesterday. I am guessing it is not being used. Anyone know why it would be there?

It looks to have gone or at least moved elsewhere in the yard now. I was at Leicester last week and could easily see the 321 from the stations, yesterday none could be seen from the station it was all stored 37s and 56. So I presume it's continued onto wabtec now.

It should be 321404, awaiting its turn to go to Wabtec, Doncaster for conversion to a 3 car Class 320.

321401/403 are, apparently, already at Wabtec being converted.

The seemingly abandoned HEX 332 appears to have recently been dragged from its resting place by the perimeter fence of Old Oak Common, and deposited in a siding closer to the shed building. Either further stripping or reinstatement awaits, I presume.

Has there been any progress on the return of 321448 or is there little chance of seeing it again?

I saw 221140 last week formed of 4 coaches. The missing coach is due to go in 221144, maybe it will be out soon.

52209 and 52212 were both damaged. Their other halves are the ones used for the GWR 150/9s. (the 57xxxs don't have a loo, which is the reason for their use in this way). 52212 was I believe scrapped, but what happened to 52209?

Was involved in a accident in st helens killing the driver and scrapped, don`t think it was in service long.

Yes, but what happened to it afterwards, was it scrapped or is it sitting somewhere awaiting possible repair?

Both were scrapped at Vic Berry of Leicester quite soon after they were damaged. Must be up there amongst the shortest-lived vehicles in passenger service.

Nah, seems to be 221144 being given a run out now that it's back to being a 4 car unit.

Looks like Cross Country from who's operating it, but shown as a West Coast set......

Thanks for that.
One half of 158861 didn't last long either. Officially it was eventually repaired but it was actually a new bodyshell fitted out with the parts from the original. Something to do with an accounting fudge.

350233 from the Watford crash is back in service as a hybrid unit. Formed of 61546+67533+65233+61433 for those interested.

The part from 350246 is as a result of the Liverpool South Parkway derailment

To quote a thread from the another sub-forum as shown below, it would now seem some forum members seem pretty clueless when it comes to anything even slightly operational in nature. @Qwerty133

Fantastic news!

Hi

London Midland on Twitter has confirmed 350233 is been converted into
a hybrid unit? 350264 is written off after the Watford landslide last year
September. What do they mean by hybrid?

Considering most of the twitter team seem pretty clueless when it comes to anything even slightly operational in nature I'm not sure that this is likely to be particularly accurate

I think the biggest gripe is that it has been quoted a lot elsewhere that the two damaged vehicles in Germany are both being repaired and that 350264 is not written off as the three repaired cars are currently in store at Tyseley awaiting return of the relevant car. Had heard sometime in May 2018.

I would very much doubt that an operator would keep three vehicles in store that and in theory if 350264 was written off would have had them repaired by the ROSCO to be potentially sit stored out of use.

Any views are my own personal ones and no one else's

Also I believe 150217 is out of action for the moment after hitting a tree in early September but I'm unsure on how long the body will take to be repaired.

Was this 150212? When was this? It seems that the other half was added to part of 150209.

52212 hit an obstruction on the Scarborough- York route. Seem to recall it was a tractor but it may be something from an engineering possession.

The 52 cars of 150209 and 150212 were both damaged beyond repair and no longer exist. The 57 Cars were not put together and exist as an additional car in 150925 and 150926, both GWR and destined for Northern at some time.

They weren't put in those sets at the time they became orphans though. They ran for many more years previously as centre cars in 150/1 sets in the West Midlands.

I only mentioned their current location on purpose which is what the thread title is all about. The two 57 vehicles have just been to Wabtec Doncaster for a few days for a C4(I think) Exam and back in the 150/1s. I won't go into their future as there are so many rumours, uncertainties and speculation I haven't mentioned their future.
