Well the better team definitely won in the Ireland Denmark game tonight. It shown the limits of Ireland's abilities.

As for Ray Houghton's commentary of the game. It was that awful tonight I can only guess Michael Owen is currently filing a civil suit for breach of copyright.

two decent enough performances by an inexperienced England team v good opposition who didn't really play at full tilt. Personally i would bin the older England players who have failed time and time again and pick the kids. The likes of Sterling don't seem to want to play for England so don't pick them. Pick lads who do want to be there.

There have been times in the past when my most favoured non-league side, upon which I regularly report upon on this thread, has shown the two alter-ego sides of the character names in a famous novel. Any guesses as to those two names?
Jeckyll and Hyde by any chance?

I don't blame Sterling for not wanting to play for England - second rate coaching compared to his home team and a national press that seem set to destroy him at every opportunity.

Oldham 3-1 Rochdale

Oldham came out on top in this local derby match and I have to say we were better team much of match. Dummigan scored inside first two mins for us to take early lead but then made terrible pass which lead to Done scoring for Rochdale. Doyle scored two goals within last 10 mins to win the match for us and third goal was wonderfully lob from 25/30 yards out. I hope Oldham can keep Doyle or even buy him from Preston in January as he already scored 11 goals for us and he be big miss for Oldham if he get sent back to Preston once he loan end on 1st Jan.

Went to Leyton Orient v Dover Athletic today, game of two halves ending 1-1 leaving us at the top of the Conference.

Nice looking stadium, out of place in non-league football.

Our manager, Chris Kinnear's 600th league game in charge of Dover today (in 2 spells), quite a feat.

Chris Coleman leaves Wales and becomes coach/manager of Sunderland.

I wonder how long he will last ?
Fans & club managements need to realise and accept that it can take 3 or more years to rebuild a "knackered" team, and that, sometimes, things get worse before they start to get better. Each time they sack the manager, they return to the starting point, and delay the rebuilding.

I seem to remember when Moneybags Utd appointed someone called Ferguson, he was not an immediate success - but they stuck with him and the team eventually became quite successful.

From what I've heard, Merthyr have the taxman on their case, they've done a total cut of the playing budget in a last ditch effort to try and stump up cash to pay what they owe.

The Italian footballteam of Benevento had untill now had 12 games and 12 losses. Zero points so. They were 1 - 1 against Sassuolo, but lost in the 94th minute. So still zero points.

How is that not a red card? Had Kompany not fouled Vardy he was through on goal and would almost certainly have scored.

Some TV commentators seem to not fully the rules of the game, as one of them said if the game had been further on in time it would have been a red card, but because the game was much earlier in progress, a yellow one was acceptable. What a load of utter tosh!!!!

Darlington 0 v Tamworth 1: How we lost this is beyond me. One of those days where the opposition have one chance and take it while the home side fail to take all of theirs. sigh.

Alan Shearer said something along those lines on MOTD, he was basically suggesting the referee had bottled it because it was so early in the game and he's probably right.

A referee getting it wrong because they didn't see something is one thing but when they clearly see it and bottle it. Graham Scott should be suspended.

Stealing a title from Man Utd for worst ever start in Europe’s top 5 leagues. Man Utd lost first 12 games sometime in the 1930s
