GTR/1878 - Orpington Depot

Haven't seen what they are doing with the TL depot, just thought it would be incorporated into the current one somehow.

All the kent depots will be completely independent and are all having new builds done. Orpington and Gillingham are being built as we speak. Ashford I'm not sure on since its been put on the back burner. No shared facilities and the separation has certainly begun with one depot access now being totally removed.

New car park at Orpington and Gill has always been a nightmare so I'm watching that with interest.

Yes I spotted that......so do we think this is from lack of quantity or lack of quality......or both?

Quantity, they won't of had a chance to shift through the applications. It seemed as though the journey by public transport was causing a problem

I tried applying as the only thing I failed on in feb was toc specific and passed all the national tests. The guy at opc said I’d be ok to try other tocs that didn’t have vse straight away and wait 6 months for tocs that do use vse. To my knowledge gtr don’t, but on the first page was “have you been unsuccessful in any train driver application in last 6 months” or some such. Thought just be honest as they would access that information in any case and just went to a page that said ineligible to apply.

I had the exact same thing....... passed the tests in jan just one not to enhanced but still passed to national.

But like you answered the question about last 6 months, and got didn’t meet criteria message.

Tried emailing Hr to no avail and no reply

This is the most likely reason it was extended. It took me about 10 attempts to save each section of the application, in the end I only just made the cut off.

I withdrew my application because it not only glitched, but it lost all my competencies, and I had to go to work for a night shift, so didn't have time to re-do them all. I stated why I withdrew as requested. Who do I call to ask if they can re-instate the application? Pretty narked about this......

Vast bulk of the work will be Orpington to Kentish Town via Catford and Sevenoaks to Blackfriars via Catford (all day, every day) with peak time extensions to Luton on the Orpington and Welwyn on the Sevenoaks (Blackfriars only until Dec 2018).
