Am I correct in thinking there's a new livery pendo going around with a black window band, or am I mistaken?

ONE (later known as NXEA) managed to make a rainbow livery look smart, so it can be done. I agree that the livery applied to this 390 could have been a bit smarter, but it still looks much better than the standard livery and it's good that VTWC are choosing to celebrate pride this way and made an effort with their special livery; the VTEC version looks like very little effort was put into it at all.

I hated the one livery.. it was more the use of blue/aqua or whatever than the coloured stripes - and the horrid typeface for the word 'one'. Actually, it was mostly the typeface!

In your opinion of course...
Not exactly the nicest livery throughout the past though. And the trend of using large blocks of colour instead of lots of striped different colours seems to agree.

Is it the visual effect or the cause its promoting that bothers you?
If it's the latter, have a word with yourself and don't worry, travelling on it won't turn you gay.
Why did you want to know the answer to this?
Is it in the hope that the guy will say "yea, I hate gays!"?
To be fair on you though, the guy just wrote "I don't like it" without particularly giving a reason why; I suppose hence your question, which he still hasn't answered. But don't try and entrap people by giving them a choice of answers when it might be neither of those.

Talk about being defensive!

However, even if the guy hates gay people, everyone is entitled to their opinion and feelings - yes, not very popular, but forcing people to think one way or another... hmm indeed.

Just stop digging.
Don't even know where to start with this
Both excellent contributions to a thread about liveries!

Indeed, and not for the first time. I think many people feel the same way.
I'm not protecting the guy - he annoys me as much as the next person here..

Wow! It looks better than I initially thought. I think that they have worked it in well with the other wise bland livery.

That does improve it a lot. As for the Pride livery it does look nice but there is feel of band wagon jumping from a lot of companies that do this.

Not really, a lot of our staff are gay and if it helps them not to feel like they've got to hide it or be quiet about it then this is only a good thing. Easy to pull this up for virtue signalling etc, but if you're in a majority of something, then you usually don't have to worry about not feeling a part of a group. Personally I think it looks superb (and I am straight before anyone asks)

Since Virgin Trains East Coast will be going out of service before the Class 800/801 trains are due to come in, will Virgin Trains still be introducing this Azuma/Flowing Silk livery despite the fact it will based on a sister company that no longer exists? I ask this because at first it seemed like they wanted to unite their stock under a single branded livery once the Azumas were in service, but since the flowing silk will likely not be applied to the new stock then it almost seems pointless to try and rebrand it. Would the DfT prohibit reverting back to the old colours or at least to a livery that matches the trains it is applied to?

They'll stick with it most likely for the time being but change it if they win the next franchise.

I would think Virgin themselves own the rights to the design? I'd say it'll be more likely for the IETs to appear in LNER design (or whatever the New franchise will be called)

Where HSTs Still Scream. Kind of.
That Pride livery looks smart. The extra colours make the ends look far more dynamic. Far better than the standard new livery, which just looks bland and perhaps even unfinished (though a bit better with the black window band).

Which is the re liveried Pendolino which has a mustache on the front and rear cabs?

VTWC still retaining their sense of humor. Just imagining someone somewhere saying 'I propose we vinyl a mustache on the front and rear cab of 390xxx'. And someone else saying how good an idea that was :D.

Also it may have been going on for some time but how long have some Pendolinos had
'Next stop...xxxx. Its Fridayy! : - )' on the door displays on a Friday? :p

It wasn't done for Movember or something like that? I know a few SWT units had moustaches on the front/back of them a few years back too.
