Wetherspoon is opening a pub at the iconic St Pancras International railway station, in London (1 October). The pub, The Barrel Vault, opens in the station’s 150th anniversary year. It will have an entrance from within the station and a terrace on Pancras Road.
Well that'll be handy for all the Eurostar passengers. Ho ho ho.Next week a Wetherpoon pub is opening at St Pancras.
I think it's where the M&S was under the Southeastern platforms.

So, I'm off to London (Central) this weekend for a trip involving culture and sobriety.... I've had a look through this thread and done a search and it seems really the only pub where you can sit and watch trains come and go is St Pancras, or have I missed one?
+1 for both, though The Malt Disley gets an extra tick for having one of the best names I've ever seen for a micropub!Haven't read the whole thread so apologies if already mentioned. The Malt Disley about 1 min from Disley station and The Piccadilly Tap just outside Man Picc both great little boozers.

There's a Wetherspoon's next to Platform 1 of Cannon Street
You can watch the Eurostars from the Sir John Metjeman pub if you sit in the outside seated area. So, I'm off to London (Central) this weekend for a trip involving culture and sobriety.... I might be out of date but isn't Cannon Street closed at weekends?

Interesting news. Not a great fan of Wetherspoons but St Pancras has been lacking options for some cheaper places to eat and drink
It'll probably be cheaper than the current offerings within the station but I wouldn't count on it being the usual Wetherspoons cheap.
None of the Wetherspoons in Zone 1 are the usual Spoons cheap, but the Hamilton Hall at Liverpool St is reasonable for a quick pint (or two) before catching the train home. I'm sure their new outlet at St Pancras will also be popular with football and rugby fans passing through on their way to and from a game.
The Angel at Islington is probably the cheapest Wetherspoons in Zone 1, basic burger and a pint for less than £7, about £1 more than here in Milton Keynes. Opposite the Tube station so maybe counts as a railway pub too.

Excellent news. Will certainly give that a visitNext week a Wetherpoon pub is opening at St Pancras.

It’s closed.I'd have thought the Berney Arms would have had a mention....

Every Spoons in Zone 1. Sadly, I think I have been in every one of them

I think I agree with the Crosse Keys as being the best.
Agreed re Knights Templar- my favorite one in London. Do you include Lloyds no.1s in your quest?Sadly, I've visited all the Spoons in all travelcard zones (except those airside at Heathrow). The Crosse Keys is definitely the best but I like the galleries in the Knights Templar. There are some other great pubs further out such as the The Capitol at Forest Hill.
Always forget The Rockingham Arms in Elephant and Castle is Zone 1, that could be the cheapest, probably not worth visiting unless you're in the area.
I'm off to Epsom and Redhill this weekend to catch the last 2 you can get to by bus on Oyster. Would have waited a week and took in St Pancras as well but have some CAMRA vouchers that expire on Sunday. Then there's a new one opening on Strand soon...
EDIT: As Wolfie says, the Rockingham Arms is cheapest, £6.35 for a basic burger and pint deal.
