You can justify Eurostar livery 373s on the 'White Rose' services as the four GNER livery sets (two trains) were not the only ones used. Infact I believe that ten of the fourteen 'regional' 373 units were used at one point or another, units 373307/8/13/4 were not used.

Your bang on there! I'm looking at a few Eurostars (normal livery) on eBay at the moment see how it goes!

I counted 161, is that right?

Hornby Class 59 - EWS 'Vail of York'
Hornby Class 56 - Transrail
Hornby Class 153 DMU - East Midlands Trains
Hornby Class 43 - Virgin Trains (Plus 3 Mk3s)
2x Hornby Class 43 - Midland Mainline (Each set has 6 Mk3s)

Unfortunetly i don't have the space for a permanent layout, but i do have the Orient Express set (which i make longer with additional straight track) that gets set up when time and space permits, they've all been run with the exception of the Bachmann/Modelzone NSE 47 which ive not had a chance to run yet!

All the 'G' Gauge stuff gets run during the summer round my garden railway, although no running will happen this year due to rebuilding work going on in the garden.

I've also got on order a Hornby NSE 4VEP, Hornby 50037 'Illustrious (sound fitted) and another Hornby Merchant Navy!

So it all does get used, but unfortunetly not as often as i'd like! :(

Looking at the new Modelzone Class 466 due for release soon :)

So am I - its been promised since end of November last year, but its still not out yet. =/

Im just starting out now, so I only have the basic 225 set in Swallow livery. Looking at getting the standard 395 set and the 2012 limited edition version, I'll have to hit ebay to find any southern livered 170 (really wished it came in a 3 car version), might get a 411 CEP and have a layout set around Southeast England.

Wish they'd commision a 377/378 =/

My layout is centered on a preserved steam operation, based loosely around industrial/branchline practice:

Steam Locos:LNER Garter Blue 4468 "Mallard" (Long defunct, one of the old Hornby five pole tender driven locos, kept purely for sentimental reasons!)

Hornby LMS 2-6-4T 2309

Hornby NCB Apple Green J94 0-6-0ST No.49 (Which operates on the Tanfield Railway a bike ride away from where I grew up, so I just had to have the model!)
Hornby GWR 27XX 0-6-0PT 2753
Lima BR Black 94XX 0-6-0PT 9420

Triang-Hornby Blue 0-4-0T 7178

Hornby GWR Holden Tank 101

Hornby Class D Tanks:
LNER Black 2606
Blue 1203
Southern Railway Green 7
BR Lined Black 4

Hornby Class 0F "Caley Pugs":
BR Unlined black 56038
Caledonian Railway 270
Highland Railway "Loch Ness"
Powergen light blue "Castle Donington Power Station"
Millenium Collectors Edition 2000
Queen Elizabeth II
Midland Railway 895
BR Lined Black 56025 "Smokey Joe"
BR Unlined Black 51200

I'm a member of the Hornby collectors club, which explains why I have quite so many small 0-4-0 steam locos: I'd prefer to keep the collection altogether rather than sell individual locos from the collectors club additions.

Diesel Locos:

Hornby "Western" D1009 "Western Invader"
Hornby Royal Mail Parcels 47808 (The very first loco I ever owned-Busy repairing this one atm)

Hornby Class 06 0-4-0DM:
BR Green D2428
BR Green D2412
BR Blue 06003
Blue Pullman Silver/blue 06008
Virgin Trains Silver/red

Lima Regional Railways 3-car DMU 101683

Hornby Tyne and Wear PTE "Pacer" 142020

Coaching stock:
Five and a half Hornby BR Mark 1s:
Blood & custard CK
Blood and custard BG
BR Maroon RMB
BR Maroon BSK
Interesting sleeper-buffet "Volunteers Accomodation/Camping Coach" conversion from an old Hornby microbuffet and a sleeper carriage, painted into my tourist green and cream corporate scheme.

2 Airfix GWR "Centenary" corridor coaches": 1xCK, 1xBSK
3 Airfix LMS Stanier Period 3 corridor coaches: 2xCK, 1xBSK
4 Airfix BR Suburban 57' non-corridors: 3xC, 1xBS

19 Hornby 4 wheel carriages: 6xGWR Brown/cream, 6xS&DJR Blue, 5xCaledonian Railway Maroon/white, 2xGreen/cream corporate scheme

1 Triang GWR Guards van, which I'm busy restoring and tidying up at the moment.

Freight wagons:
7 Hornby wooden coke wagons,
assorted private owner liveries
7 Hornby 5/7 plank coal and coke wagons: 3 SR (2 red, 1 brown), 4 assorted private owner liveries.

4 Hornby 12t vent vans, 1 Bachmann 12t vent van, 1 Bachmann LMS Cattle wagon, 1 ancient Wrenn NE cattle wagon

Bachmann BRT Grain hopper, Hornby Texaco tank wagon, various other bits and pieces I can't be bothered to list!

I've also got a few "modern image" items that I just coudn't bear to part with when I sold off the rest of my modern image stock to concentrate on steam, which are generally kept hidden away:
Dapol four carriage Virgin Trains "Pendolino" 390002 "Red Revolution"
Hornby Intercity swallow 2+2 HST (The original 1987 trainset)
Hornby Virgin 86225 "Hardwicke"

Is that enough for ya? ;)

I've never bothered much with model railways, certainly never had a layout. I was never good enough at the modelling side, so just left it to other people. Always had a soft spot for a nice model or two though. I work for a large parcels firm and occasionally they sell off to staff all the stuff they can't find homes for. I got a Hornby Golden Arrow Pullman set this way for £25, and a Bachmann class 20 (my lordz!) for a fiver! Both unopened at the time.

Pride and joy though has to be this Hornby Dublo Bristol Castle, in close to mint condition and in the original 1957 plain box that the first batches were released in before the artwork was ready.

At the moment I am in possession of (OO gauge):

Lima EWS 66001
Bachmann Scotrail 158732 (whoosh livery with First labelling)
Hornby GNER 225 91003 + 2 mk4 + DVT
LMR 0-4-0 maroon saddle tank engine, no 895 (don't know what class, kettles aren't my speciality)
3 x HAA slightly weathered hopper wagons

When I was a boy, I used to have:

Intercity 225 91014 + 2 mk4 + DVT
A blue 0-4-0 tank engine, cannot remember any of the company markings
1 x small flatbed wagon, with a mini 'pile of cement bags' from harburn hobbies to sit on it
1 x unknown type hopper wagon - i used to fill this with harling from the outside wall :D
1 x roofless box wagon
1 x ICI paint wagon
