yes, rode the 730/0 on WCML services before, they quite comfortable to ride on,at least bettrr than those 350/2I presume the appearance of 730s on some of the evening peak Northampton 'limited stop but gets overtaken' services is due to some 350s being out of action due to flooding?
Still quite good fun at high speed

Unless it's a temporary thing related to being a 730 but the 1W51 1619 London Euston to Northampton gets overtaken between Cheddington & Leighton Buzzard by the 1Y53 1626 London Euston to Birmingham New Street as it goes on the slow lines at Bourne End.I'm puzzled; I don't know of any down Northampton services that are timetabled to be overtaken by another one - what are they?
Are the 730/0s not 75 mph max?
As an aside, the internal LNwR maps on 730/0 do not show a route North of Milton Keynes via Northampton towards Birmingham.
I think Euston - Birmingham is staying as 350s initially as they would have to be single units which would be too short.First of all thank you for the info on 730035. I finally got it yesterday
Secondly, does anyone know what the current plans (I know things get changed) are for the 730/2?
As I understand it they will be working Euston to Crewe and Liverpool to Birmingham
They may replace the 730/0 on Euston to Tring/Milton Keynes but I have a feeling that wont happen for a while.......
The curve ball is Euston to Birmingham which I thought was staying as 350 but I have also heard that this too will become 730/2
Tring/MKC needs to be double /2s at peak times.I think Euston - Birmingham is staying as 350s initially as they would have to be single units which would be too short.
Crewe - Euston definitely 730/2, some single some double sets
Liverpool - Birmingham may use both tractions but will definitely see single 730/2 sets on it.
Tring/MKC I'm not sure on - should go to single/double 730 sets really.
Absolutely! Or 12 car 350.Tring/MKC needs to be double /2s at peak times.

90mph for the /0s
It’s not supposed to go inside and be overtaken, it’s an unadvertised retiming, see the published timetables here:Thanks for that; the all day pattern of nn.26 and nn.56 (-ish) from Euston to Birmingham has additional nn.19 (again, -ish) in the evening peak but generally the nn.26 follows the nn.19 all the way to Northampton. It's curious that, only in the case of the 16.19, it's timetabled to overtake it. Strange
Thanks. The 16.19 is timed for '110 m.p.h.' but has 13 minutes of allowances. I wonder if the 4 minutes 'performance allowance' within those is for the use of 730/0s.

730s can’t use Platform 1 at MK in passenger, it goes ECS to Bletchley then in from there in the morning.
Will some 730/0s stay on Tring/MK services after the 730/2s have been introduced? Could the 730/0s be used on the Abbey Line? They are 3 car units so should not be too long for the platforms.I think Euston - Birmingham is staying as 350s initially as they would have to be single units which would be too short.

On Tuesday I saw all of the above except 14 and 46 in Brum.Hello apologies for the odd post but

Am I right in thinking these are all currently working WMT services in the Midlands, or are some currently on LNR out of Bletchley?
Thanks
I'd have thought both would be unlikely given they are WMT branded but I guess there's always the opptionWill some 730/0s stay on Tring/MK services after the 730/2s have been introduced? Could the 730/0s be used on the Abbey Line? They are 3 car units so should not be too long for the platforms.

What else would you have had done with the fifty odd 350s?So does that mean that Euston - Birmingham will always have to be 350s because somebody forgot to order 4 car 730s?
Remember the 350s are nowhere near the end of their usable life. Only the /2s are looking tatty so if it's pair of /4 or /1s then it will be better for passengers anyway. So does that mean that Euston - Birmingham will always have to be 350s because somebody forgot to order 4 car 730s?

I appreciate it, thanksHi @TT-ONR-NRN the following is a snapshot from 0800-1000 at New Street on Thursday 19th :
001 and 011 were halves of two pairs on the Lichfield TV - Bromsgrove circuit,
007 and 015 were solo on the Rugeley TV - B'ham Int'l circuit
019 and 041 were halves of two pairs on the Redditch - Four Oaks circuit
014 and 046 were not seen
Hope this is of use!
No worries!I appreciate it, thanks![]()
So a double /0 would be the best fit4 car 730s would be too long for that purpose. They're 24m vehicles. A three-car unit is roughly equivalent to a 4.350 (though is about 8m shorter).
Other than the interiors not being that suitable for a journey like Euston to Birmingham. So a double /0 would be the best fit
