Hi, I'm travelling form Hounslow to Hitchin at 5.30pm and Hitchin to Surbiton at 9.30pm. Is there a way to do this without forking out for 2 singles? I have no railcard or oyster. Thanks in advance for advice.

Am on the 1530 Paddington to Plymouth train (Sunday). Any particular reason it is scheduled to wait 21 minutes at Westbury? It's mildly frustrating given I'm getting off at the next stop (Castle Cary)!
