Hi,
I'm travelling form Hounslow to Hitchin at 5.30pm and Hitchin to Surbiton at 9.30pm.
Is there a way to do this without forking out for 2 singles?
I have no railcard or oyster.
Thanks in advance for advice.
Taxis were not prebooked (you'd have thought a phone call ahead with numbers for destinations might have been possible in the previous 4 hrs). But EC staff at Peterborough worked quickly and cheerfully. 20 mins later we were underway. Minibus stopping at Bury St E, Stowmarket, village in middle...
Thanks again for advice. Even stopping the journey is difficult unless EC pay for hotel. On Advance ticket via Peterborough. In better news, light engine has arrived and second tree is almost removed.

2024: Stuck for last two hours just south of Wakefield on 1715 [edit :1745] from Leeds. Apparently tree fell on train. Tow from Leeds back to Leeds got stuck in Wakefield. Awaiting tow from Doncaster. Could be a late night. Any ideas on getting to Ipswich tonight?
Thanks for the replies so far.
I can commit to advance tickets.

2nd leg (Birmingham Int to Bristol TM) £29.35 (advance)
3rd leg (Castle Cary to Waltham Cross) £15.20 (advance - pretty good)
I did wonder if there...
I wonder if the members might help me with some ideas for keeping the price down of a tringular trip with a gap in it that I have coming up?
I have a 16-25 Railcard.
The first leg is on expenses and a return ticket can be claimed for this bit.
1. Monday 23rd July. Waltham Cross to...
Can anybody help reduce the fare for this journey? I'll be travelling on Monday 12th December, needing to arrive before 2pm. Would prefer to be flexible on return time (which will be the same day), though could commit to a train leaving after 4pm if the saving was significant. I have a 16-25...
Am on the 1530 Paddington to Plymouth train (Sunday). Any particular reason it is scheduled to wait 21 minutes at Westbury? It's mildly frustrating given I'm getting off at the next stop (Castle Cary)!
