Merry Christmas and a happy New Year to all members. Ours will a very low key Christmas this year as Mother in Law has just recently been diagnosed with a serious illness.

Merry Christmas everyone, and all the best wishes for 2018. This year, I have to say after the up and down year I've had, I'm looking forward to spending the Christmas holiday with my Dad, girlfriend and daughter. In truth, I'm not too bothered about how many presents I get this year, because spending it with the three people I've just mentioned is the best present I could ask for. I've got to admit, I'm looking forward to the turkey dinner I've been planning for a couple of weeks, along with the delicious looking Christmas cake my girlfriend made for us all yesterday.

Merry christmas everyone and happy new year, I have come to visit this site religously every day and night and love it, it is a massive family. Massive thanks to the site admin, all contributors for wonderful help and advice, even to the ones that disagreed, after all reasoned debate is a healthy thing.And finally i hope 2018 will be a good one and all those looking for that job , or sitting in talent pools realise their dream, and that goes also for the many train enthusiasts not in the industry in their occupations and lives.

Merry Christmas to all and best wishes for 2018. After being very ill in the run up to Christmas I'm just happy to be up and chilling with girlfriend and son. I'm looking out at a rather dismal River Thames this morning - I did get to commute into London by catamaran one day this year, but until a full service starts, it's HS1 for me.

Merry Christmas to all from from my bath (sorry, TMI) as I recover from getting to bed after 3am.
(Not because of a hectic social life, but due to having to help build then deliver an Ikea toy kitchen after playing a watch night service for which I had the wrong glasses and couldn’t see a thing. Suspect onset of dementia - couldn’t remember the Wilcox descents and had to Google them furtively on my iPhone).
