Congratulations to Connahs Quay Nomads who beat Edinburgh City 5-4 on penalties last night to reach the Scottish Challenge Cup Final. Two excellent stops by Bradford's former keeper John Danby in the penalty shoot won the day. There the Nomads will meet Ross County from Dingwall, the most northerly team in the Scottish League.

Scottish Challenge Cup Final

Connah's Quay Nomads 1 ... Ross County 3

Tomorrow the Netherlands in Amsterdam against Germany.
That's on Sky over here. Next week (according to their letter to me) the KNVB are selling tickets for the NL - NI game in October @ Rotterdam, the hotel's already booked, just need to bag a brace of tickets. There;s a Feijenoord supporter's bar near the hotel - spotted looking at Google Streetview. Looks a decent place to have a beer before the game!

Scotland and SAN Marino looking very evenly matched!
2 - 0 now to SCO; positive golden uplands.

I do have issues with everyone (due to FIFA rankings) calling San Marino the "worst (international) team in the world". Now there are lies and statistics. Statistially, yes, but they never get to play against teams that they would hammer - such as Turks & Caicos islands, American Samoa, Montserrat, Bolton Wanderers, British Virgin islands. So unless we have an actual mini world cup, which the majority of those teams couldn't afford to take part in; we should take the bottom of the rankings with a large dose of salt.

Yeah it is a bit harsh, it is more like a town than a country. Would be interested to see them play Fort William.

England have gone for 5 again! I don’t recall an England team in my lifetime that put out good performance after good performance.

England have scored 5 or more goals in consecutive matches for the first time since November 1984.

Yep. Ok Montenegro aren’t much of a test, but we’ve struggled against teams like this (almost any team actually) over the last decade or so.
I feel more positive about England right now than I have for years.

Looks like there’s been some unpleasant chanting of a racist nature during the game though.
Let’s hope that something gets done about it, but I won’t hold my breath.

A few years ago we only managed a 1-1 draw away to them in qualification.

As a matter of interest (okay, I'm being nosy!!), how much did it cost you, please?

Same question!

There’s literally hundreds of tickets on ticket reseller websites going in the Watford end at effectively face value, and from the club they are on general sale to any Watford fan with a supporter number. And each supporter can buy up to 9 tickets.

Meanwhile for Wolves, the few tickets left are one ticket per member only, and then only with a certain number of loyalty points (season ticket holders got theirs over the weekend). It’s unlikely they will be on sale to registered supporters who are not members. Meanwhile the cheapest on stubhub are £400 each...

I know it is to ensure fairness between the clubs that they each get the same number of tickets. But there’s a lot of Wolves fans who will be missing out, and a lot of ’plastic’ Watford fans on the day. I should imagine the ‘neutral’ sections of the ground will have a distinct yam yam feel to them.

Thanks … I hope that you have a good day.

I was at Wembley on a tour a couple of weeks ago, and it's a very impressive stadium.

What do you have to do to get a supporter number? Just register, or are they limiting the sale of these to people who've bought a ticket before? They might find themselves getting a lot of new supporters with WV postcodes.

For Watford anyone can become a supporter, but only those who had a supporter number before March 15th can buy a cup semi ticket from the Watford ticket office.

Wolves tickets sold out yesterday, plenty of full members didn’t get one.

They're on general sale, anyone can buy three tickets.

Presumably their fans don't get excited about semi-finals, or trips to Wembley these days.

Third trip this year. I'm going next week, for some fans it's simply too much outlay over the season.

Add to that that it may be a rush to get home by train, then some fans might just say it is easier to watch the match on the telly. To some City fans the game is their least important of their remaining fixtures.

Oldham 2-0 Grimsby

Oldham first game since Scholes resign and it was good win for Latics which keep them in outside chance of making play offs but probably need to win two games in hand on other teams around them started on Tues night against in form Tranmere.
