I'm unsure those two go together!
Is this intentional, because it's rather annoying if you use multiple computers?
Yes, access to this forum is only for those with five or more posts.
I wonder if there should be some thought given to whether it is necessary to have separate sections for "Buses & Coaches" and "Other Public Transport"? Some forums based in other countries combine all local public transport in one section. Obviously British culture has dictated that buses are very distinct from trams and this demarcation is reflected in having separate sections, but it could be seen to be further entrenching the lack of integration in British urban transport.
Except of course that many of the tram systems in this country are based on the use of former heavy-rail alignments so they tend to be perceived somewhat differently than trams on the Continent are by their local residents. It's a pity but that's the reality.
They were previously combined but the volume of discussion around buses was drowning out any other discussion. Currently the bottom thread on the front page of Buses & Coaches had a post made yesterday at 1855 whilst Other Public Transports equivalent was posted in at the end of August!
So by splitting them we help to give those who wish to discuss buses an area that is clearly marked and available for them to do so without clogging up other aspects of public transport with topics that people may not be interested in.
If we didn't split them then right now there would only be three posts in the new combined sections front page that weren't related to buses!
It isn't some 'British culture' issue and is instead something we spent time considering with the aim of improving the user experience.
It's also worth pointing out that we have www.busforums.co.uk which takes people straight to the 'Buses & Coaches' area
