Got a text to say that the Edinburgh portion of 1S26 will have no lounge car tonight.

92033 has brought the stock for 1S25 into Euston, so should be on 1S26. 1S25 loco looks like 92018 although the number was difficult to make out from my train arriving at Euston.

I think you're correct - the only other option in terms of Blue 92s at Wembley/Willesden would be 92010, but that was showing "T" (Transfer to depot) on TOPS this morning and didn't work last night (90045 subbed in for it).

On the north end, 92014 was reported at Edinburgh today so it's the likely candidate for 1M16. 90045 is on 1M11 and 90016 on the Carstairs portion (1C11).

Further north, 73967 is on Fort William; 73966 on Aberdeen and 67012 on Inverness.

Scrap that theory - it's a Sleeper 92 on the Lowlander ECS as well, so means one of 92010 and 92018 is on 1S25 and the other is on ECS moves. This may tie in with 86101 possibly working the Footex tomorrow morning...?

92 on front at Watford tonight could not see number.
I'm reasonably sure 1S25 is 92018 and thus 92010 is on the ECS - as the 1S25 loco looked filthy (which 92018 is at the moment) whereas the ECS loco appeared decidedly cleaner.

The ECS for tomorrows Footex was hauled by one of ROG's 37's (well it was a 37 in "europhoenix" colours)

Aye - 37601 apparently - also a scrambled headcode which suggests it was a ROG rather than GBRf move.

Keep seeing 86101 mentioned in different places as the loco for the EUS-Liverpool working tomorrow (and it not being on ECS tallies with that) - so perhaps some form of ROG/GBRf joint operation? Or ROG are hiring in the 86? Bit swifter/greener up the WCML than a 37 I think.

1S25 (Highlander) showing as 92018 on TOPS
92010 and 92033 showing as being a Euston, so with 92033 confirmed by @Mag_seven as the 5S95/1S26 loco does indeed leave 92010 as the 5S96 Lowlander ECS loco.

Also appears as per @ScottDarg 's prediction 90045 is on 1M11 (with 87002 the ECS loco) and 90016 on the Carstairs portion (or has worked 5C11 ECS out to Edinburgh at least).

Footex? Sorry, what's that?
...I think the term derives from a shortened version of "Football Excursion" - I'm sure someone will correct me if wrong.

Also other variants, e.g. Rugex, Golfex etc

Yes that's how Footex is derived. As regards to other variants there are two variants of "Footex" which I believe come from railway control offices:
"Hooliganex" and "Yobex". ;)

(don't shoot me I'm just the messenger :D )

Definitely 'off-topic' but I must defend my corner ! Hopefully those nasty words used in #5400 above belong in the past.I think all football excursions together with 'rugex' are responsibly run nowadays ; whether they are extra trains run by TOCs to keep fans away from scheduled services or charters run and paid for by football clubs with the help of companies such as Thomas Cook and their sports division.

Indeed. There are those on here that still think it’s 1987 ...... or 1967 on occasions! <(

Oh dear! I was only quoting what railway control offices used to call these trains back in the bad old days (that's what the bit about "shooting the messenger" was about.) I'm quite sure a different attitude prevails today. Anyway off-topic as you say.

In the early 70s I worked a few Footex's, the worst trouble I had was with Yeovil 'fans', fortunately the players and directors were also on the train and they helped to calm things down, this was at the time where supporters though it cool to wear warpaint. :)

About 20 years ago I (unintentionally) found myself on a "footex" from Dublin to Belfast. That was "interesting" with various flags being flown out the windows... As far as I remember it was one of those NIR thumper type DMUs, and it was chaos on board. It's the closest I've come to pulling the emergency stop, when someone climbed out one of the slam doors on the opposite side of the train from the platform, onto the other running line, to retrieve his shoe that someone had flung out of the window. The train started moving as he was trying to scramble back on board. Fortunately someone pulled him on and nothing nasty happened.

I'm on the Northbound West Highlander tonight with a tight connection at Garelochead. Any advance details of melt down would be much appreciated :)

92 033 on 1C11/1B26

90 016 on 1M16.

This should mean that there's two 92s in the Klondyke tomorrow then (018 and 014), assuming 92018 doesn't disappear to Craigentinny or something tonight.

With that same assumption in mind, it should also mean there's 3 92s in Edinburgh at once tomorrow morning, how often does that happen?
