Likewise, I've seen a few fellow candidates passing through Leamington to\from their interviews, one of today's said he was told 3-4 weeks for an answer, so it may appear that the "End of June" I was told in May has had to slip for one reason or another - most likely a shortage of suitable interviewers holding things up - that or the OPC testing.

About half way through the long wait, just want to know now as it's getting frustrating after having waited around 8 months to hear anything for the depot driver jobs too.
That doesn't sound too promising! More waiting :( I really just wanna know one way or another asap, this waiting is painful!

Hi everyone. I'm a first time poster but long time reader of these forums. I just wanted to post to let you know that I have had an interview today for this position, I felt it went well. I was told that the standard has been really high and they have more than enough candidates to choose from already from the first set of interviews. Because of this they are considering holding another 10 candidates from this year on hold for next years driver course rather than advertising again and going through the full process. Also said it will be about 4 weeks until getting answer, so more waiting for all of you who have waited a long time already unfortunately. Good luck everyone!

That would make sense based on the sheer number of people they have interviewed and put through the psychometric testing at not inconsiderable expense.

So now we wait. And wait.

I also had my interview today. Found it quite relaxed and the people who interviewed me made me feel at ease straight away. Like others have said I was advised that I will hear back from Chiltern within 4 weeks. They also asked if I would like to have my details kept on file for future intakes if unsuccessful this time round. Said Chiltern are committed to at least one intake of trainees per year for the duaration of the franchise.

I thought it went well so will just have to sit tight now! Good luck to everyone else still in the pool!

For those who haven't had the email and are starting to worry....

Thank you for your patience during the process for the Trainee Train Driver vacancies at Chiltern Railways. To give you a quick update we have now concluded the final set of interviews taking us to the end of the process.

The next steps are for us to get together as a Team to go through all of the interviews that have been conducted over May and June to make the final decisions on who has been successful. They are a number of elements being discussed such as the possibility of keeping some of the unsuccessful candidates for the 2017 school in reserve for the 2018 due to the volume of talented individuals seen.

We are currently looking at finalising the whole process with feedback and offers where suitable completed by the end of the Month.

A mate who is also in the running for this said he had an email asking for a photo of himself. I was asked to take one with me for interview but I haven't received an email from them as posted above. Maybe they didn't like me?!

No emails as of yet, more nervous waiting and apprehension continues. They say patience is a virtue.

I actually think that you guys who haven't heard a thing could actually be in a good position. They may have already decided on you as people they have picked, with a need to see pictures of the rest of us to decide who else will be the lucky ones...

That's a fair point actually. Here's to remaining optimistic (and checking my inbox every few minutes!)

Why have a photo to jog their memory? Thye must have notes and our interview scores, is this not enough for them to decide?

The plot thickens a bit. I got a "Final reminder" email just now to submit a photo to accompany my application. It included an email apparently sent on the 16th June the same as the one copied and posted in this thread - but I had never received that one strangely.

Anyway, some poor soul now has to look at my ugly mug now that I've sent it in, I think perhaps they neglected to tell earlier interview candidates to bring a photo like they did for those later.

Yes I know later candidates were asked to have photos with them. If offered a position it allows them to give you staff ID immediately but also as others have suggested could be used to refresh the memory of some candidates who had their interviews early. Good luck to all in the pot still for this.

An email was posted in here stating they are looking to get back to people by the end of the month, if they are still working to that time frame I would expect you will here sometime this week. Sit tight and cross fingers.

They said to me that it would be around 4 weeks, so the end of this week would be a bonus.

My rejection just received, and two other railway colleagues I know the same. Mentions interview performance and distance from the locations. They had so many interviewees that the company has the luxury of choice and we have the sting of disappointment. Great position for them, but not for those unsuccessful.

Well done to anyone who has got through - just for clarity and interest I'm in Redditch, North-East Worcestershire - how about other fellow rejectees??

Sorry to hear you have had bad news. Hopefully it's good experience if nothing else and take the positive that all your testing is done and still obviously valid.
