Class 153 updates.

There's a path booked at 1130 this coming wednesday from Landore to Canton sidings (via Swansea station at 1140), so perhaps 153972 is ready to return to service. 153982 has reportedly gone into the workshops, leaving just 918 and 374 outside in the yard.

Yes, 968 went in after 972, so should be the next one out, with 918 then going in.

The transfer of 972 from Landore to Canton went on Friday instead of Wednesday, so it should be making an appearance in traffic anytime.

Wednesday 30th March 2021. 5Z10 1004 Derby R.T.C. network rail to Long Marston witnessed and sighted at Kings Norton saw 153311 going to Long Marston for storage with its network rail logo faded and also its cameras removed from the front. Any further information, and about the future off the other network rail 153s would be much appreciated. Have they now finished and will they all go into store. However 153311 is at Long Marston. Storage??

A train does not need a toilet to be PRM compliant. 153/9s with their locked out toilets are therefore compliant as they’ve all been through Landore for upgrading

Thanks - I'll check them out. I did my last EMR 153 to Barton last winter for old times sake - can't say I'll miss them (or their seat spacing!) but they were an important part of the scene no doubt at all.

Now looked (and clicked on some ads!) - I esp like the ones in the landscape - some superb viaduct shots for example.

Those four have been bought by TfW from Angel.

Parts seems to be consensus. Strip them. From what has been seen of the other units they've stripped they do a pretty comprehensive job.

I did see a mention on Facebook that some of them may also see some PRM work, so who knows. They could end up as some for refurb, some for spares?
