Cepheus through Cambridge North on full throttle and most certainly erupted from Cambridge on full power.
Pure full on sound. Cambridge city was treated to a lovely roar

5Q76 37800 With 37800 and 317708 on time through Welwyn Garden City.
Leaving only x2 more off the 3177 sub class to go for scrap at Ely Mlf Papworth sidings.

Will miss the 317/7 units. A really top notch refurb for StanEx and always a delight to get one in a Chingford working!

I suppose it's too early to know - when the new timetable is in and the last GA 317s are withdrawn, is it likely that any will go to Eastleigh for scrap? Or will Sims / Booths get them?

5Q76 0951 Ely Mlf Papworth to Newport Docks Simms hauled by 37884 with 317719. On time through Cambridge North. No more original Wagn or Lorol original rolling stock now left on network to run. Making it a second occasion that existing old Network South East coaching stock emus comes to a end of a era.

3177719 was of course modified to be a Stansted Express unit. When they were cascaded down to the Chingford and Cheshunt work they were probably some of the most luxurious commuter trains out there!

Is there any information about the tco carriage from 317345? I know it’s preserved but I can’t seem to find anymore information about it

I've read suggestions that the cost of the carriage is the cheap bit. You've then got to pay for it to be moved, pay for somewhere to store it, and that's before you even start to think about any repairs / maintenance / changes to interior. Deep pockets required!
