I'd say a the performance is better than a 222. I even had to ease right down on the power going up Sharnbrook. Maybe the transmission is more efficient than 222's? Braking seems superior and more positive too. I was using my regular 222 braking points in low brake, and still having to take it off. Handling wise overall i'll give them 10/10. Spend a bit of time and money ironing out some glitches, and there are a few annoying glitches, and you'd have a great train.
I think you are right, as it does indeed look very faded! It won't be long before we see EMR's new moquette as either the 360 or 170 will go for a refurb at some point within 2021 I would imagine.
Could very well be faded MML, but looked very much close to the colour scheme of EMR’s proposed interior so thought it’d be replacing a worn out EMT one.

I thought that as well at first, but I doubt that they'd debut the new seat covering on the tip up seats! Far more likely to be that they replaced a worn out one with an original one that they found within the depths of the spares department at Etches Park, or quite possibly the original one!
That said, the EMR all-purple interior is perhaps something of a back to the future, I'd forgotten just how purple the interiors were originally whilst looking this all up

Found this at Kettering station recently, is anyone aware of any other EMT signage/branding still present on the network? I am generally curious.
110 and 109 were in the shed at Etches all day yesterday. 113 was there today so I presume it was that. No sign of 111 so I presume that's up at Crofton.
I imagine that certain work still needs to be undertaken there at present. Probably engine related and heavy duty maintenance, with simpler things being done at Etches.
Ah ok, thank you! I can imagine EMR is doing (almost) anything and everything to improve their reliability to avoid the problems the units had with Hull Trains...
I saw it heading through Mexborough and looked it up on RTT. It was down as an ECS move from Etches Park to Doncaster Robert Rds shed. Sorry I can’t shed any light on why, I’m used to seeing mainly old locos going to that destination.

They are having plenty of attention from the fitters, to the extent that it can be challenging getting on a set to take trainees around, and do low speed moves and coupling practice. We manage in the end somehow though. The priority should be to get them running satisfactorily.
