I was hoping the EMR would keep at least one of its 180s in dynamic lines livery when in passenger service, but doesn’t look like it’s going to happen. Is there a plan to refurbish them internally?

I'm not sure about full refurbishment, but i've seen a box of brand new leather seat covers on 110, new PIS screens being fitted and set up on 113 today, and EMR style safety stickers ready to be stuck on. Still a lot of Hull Trains stuff inside at present though.

That means all the ex GA units are done - are there any plans to do the remaining ex EMT units?
The base colour of GA is white, so easy to apply vinyl decals to. Granted they could revinyl the whole unit for the EMT ones, but would they go to the expense or just wait until repaint is due?

The repaint wouldn’t be due for a while now - I think they were attended to during PRM works with EMT.

Or wait until 'an amateur painter' has a go at giving a train a repaint as happened with 405 (and possibly 406) some months ago (if my rusty memory serves me right!)

I doubt it personally given 414 got completely covered back in September and still carried the same livery it had before when it had been cleaned (the EMT base blue).

180110 is the unit on the Corby branch today - minus the seating and exterior livery there is a lot of evidence of its former career with Hull Trains and is rather grubby inside...

sadly it does seem that EMR's main contribution to passenger quality since franchise takeover is a distinct downturn in interior quality / ambience compared with EMTs efforts. One might think that in all the time these 180s have been not in use deep cleaning contractors could have been inside them to get them at least half decent looking inside.
It does not give joe public much confidence of a decent covid cleaning regime if they don't even look clean...(not that you can see covid but 1st impressions and all that)
