Definitely wouldn't be a bad time to get a 4/4A in the West end. Pink coloured E200 MMC on the 4 and then a X85/X87 branded decker on the 4A after it towards Broomhill
Would be good to see more of the older liveries around as part of an initiative for promoting bus use in Glasgow. Would be good press for First and something the government could use well
In all honestly I think First just have to stick to a livery and concentrate on getting all those buses into that livery.
As for the 4 I would say they should trial it with single deckers. The 4 is nowhere near as busy as it once was. The 2 seems to just manage with singles so I’m sure the 4 could even if they adjusted the frequency slightly from 15 minutes to 10 or 12 and that could make more a more consistent service but better use of buses.
Singles are not common on the 4 for whatever reason. Though have noticed it happening more often.

Yeah the decline of the 4/4A has happened at an alarming rate tbh and even as every 15 mins could probably cope with singles. Heard a few driver complaints lately that they'd want doubles on the 8 and 90 but I doubt they'd even be busy enough to warrant them
Since the 90 moved to Scotstoun it’s mainly filled with B7TLs and quite often sees B7RLEs and E300s (I saw a 2 branded one on it the other morning!) I wouldn’t say the 90 was a particularly busy route but because it’s so big it probably sees people from all over the city staying on for a few stops hence why it’s survived so long. It had new Streetlites but since has had just about anything on it.

Yeah I've seen a few deckers on the 90 of late. There's certainly parts of the route that deckers could do well for but it's too big a route and too unreliable a service most of the time to be that attractive to use
On my route , someone must of complained and they added an extra decker, in morning bus picks up loads of Holyrood pupils. Next bus after is decker , so quite often i aim for the deckers
Yeah I've noticed with the 7s in particular that there's been the odd decker here and there than never really used to be a thing. Anywhere around Holyrood is pretty busy in the morning though
Yeah , very unpredictable . One day the 31 will arrive at 823 and the next 9am. So i get earlier bus that gets me in for 755.
Yeah I've never really used the 31 in the morning peak but the evening one is fairly unpredictable and overall my use of the 31 is pretty mixed. It's either bang on time or 15/20 mins late. Never much inbetween
Was up Vale of Leven today , still a few B10BLES on the 206.
Who knew all those years ago when they were based at Parkhead on busy routes like the 40, 61 and 62 that they would eventually make it all the way out to the Vale or Leven.
I recall them more on Lanarkshire services. When did they end service at Parkhead.
Think it was about 2006 when the B7RLEs replaced them.
I remember seeing the B10s on the 62 back in the day. Absolutely loved going on them when I was a wee bairn.
I always preferred the B10BLEs to the dreadful B7Ls. They were good buses only let down by the horrid seating onboard.
Single low floors only have a good few seats on them compared to double decker.
I think @JumpinTrainz was more referring to the type of seats not how many there are...
Seen a few 6s on the south side of the city and even at Clarkston and Busby that were busier than anything I've seen on the north side in a long time. Was pretty impressed that my 6 from the Calderwood terminus stayed on time into the city centre too as it's so rare for a 6 to be on time for any decent length of time
75 branded E400 MMC 33206 is making a very rare appearance on the 57A towards Balornock East! I’m lucky enough to be travelling on it as far as Red Road this evening
