So Hamilton binning it in second practice isn’t a mistake? He was so so lucky that it was a Friday gearbox. I believe Vettel’s penalty was extremely harsh. The championship is over now. I don’t believe there is anything Vettel could have done. Hamilton fans maybe salivating over a cruise to the Championship for him now but I reckon most proper fans are probably fed up with it. He is that far ahead even if Vettel is winning a few races he can easily afford a few second or third place finishes. The Sky Sports pundits like Jenson Button all said that Hamilton didn’t go for the overtake in the last few laps because he knew Vettel had the penalty. Another championship down another Mercedes dominance.
There's no racing in F1 anyway so a five second penalty makes no difference to the championship anyway, even if the penalty hadn't happened it would still be one of the dullest races possible since all Vettel and Hamilton could do was drive round in formation the entire time. Canada is one of the best F1 tracks and this was supposed to be one of the best races of the year since Vettel could finally race with Hamilton, the joke is this probably will be one of the best races of the year...
As to why I'm commenting on an F1 thread, it has been all over the headlines and piqued my interest although as usual it seems the actual drama around the race is far more interesting than the race itself.
