Forthcoming galas in 2013

Almost a month into 2013 I think it is time this thread is started.

Some diesel events

9th/10th February - Mid Norfolk Railway 'Stratford' weekend - 31235, 37003, 47579/580/596.

16th February - North Norfolk Railway - class 25, 31, 47. Currently some conflicting info about which shunter(s) will be working, D3935 and 12131 according to some, D3940 according to others.

2nd/3rd March - events at Great Central, Ecclesbourne Valley, and East Lancs.

9th/10th March NRM York shunter Gala, D2860, 08064, 08911 and 09017. Derwent Valley might also be running 03079 and D9523 but this is not yet confirmed

5th/6th/7th April - Mid Norfolk

26th/27th/28th April - Mid Hants (08032, 08288, 12082, 37905, 50027, DEMU 1125 plus visiting class 20, 33, 37, 47, 55).
Also Keighley & Worth Valley diesel gala

Shunters will no longer be running at NNR 16th Feb Mini gala owing to Winter Maintenance program.

Swanage diesel gala 10 - 12 May. Assume they & the Mid Hants will be holding steam galas around 6 - 8 Sept but a visit to the Mid Hants site makes no mention of it, so will it be going ahead?

For June 14 - 16th we aim to have the following shunters available for the North Norfolk Gala.

Class 03, D2063
Class 08, D3940
Class 11, 12131

They won't be on the main Sheringham - Weybourne - Holt sections, due to pathing constraints (we want to shove as many big locos up and down as possible!) But there will be brake van rides at Weybourne!

I can confirm this, as I've written the June timetable!

I'll update as and when I can, in the meantime, see Weybourne Traction Group on Facebook, or WYtractiongroup on twitter.

Feb 16th's timetable is now online (www.nnrailway.co.uk) with loco allocations available (a new thing for us).

Apparantly 33108 + 4VEP + 71001 ?
So have they got 3rd rail at Barrow Hill now ? Otherwise how does the 71 provide power ?

I assume you're thinking of the 74s. 71s had 3rd rail plus pantographs for D.C. overhead.

For those going to the NRM on 9th and 10th March for the gronks, the 03 and 14 at Derwent Valley is now confirmed.

Loco roster for next weekend's East Lancs event may be subject to change due to the DMU not being available.

Next weekend's GCR event will feature 37198, D123 and D1705 on Saurday, D8098, D5830 and 37198 on Sunday with DMU both days.

The 33/1 will be doing push-pull with the VEP as the 71 is dead since there is
no 3rd rail installed at BH.
