What also is the uniform like and the uniform allocation.

If you can get past the worse website in the World, anything else is a bonus! :D

Seriously though, don't think FOC get travel perks.

There are loads of passengers to worry about, in the other trains... In a worst case scenario anyway.

My friend works for Freightliner as a driver trainer and is based at Eastleigh, his uniform is a green polo shirt with black Dickies style trousers. He really likes his job. He said he's never been short of cash which I guess is a perk.

Would be wonderful not to deal with passengers in my line of work

Were you offered a job after passing your medical?

I heard there was travel perks (Chinese whispers I think) which was surprising considering it isn't a TOC, which would be cool but not holding my breath.

Freightliner existed when BR was privatised, so any (old BR) 'protected' member of staff who joins the company will keep their BR boxes and priv travel facilities.

Anyone else joining won't get any travel facilities.

That's my understanding, but this may be why people have heard differing things.

That interesting thanks guys. And yeah I've passed my medical with FL so going to be going on to rules and regs training. I also heard that you get traville perks but might be rumors I'll just wate and see I guess.

Don't hold your breath. You might get a discounted season ticket, which NR and BTP staff can get, but you won't get PRIV or FIP discounts, arguably only the latter of which nowadays is a real privilege.

Dunno about that, I'd say being able to travel from Ipswich to Inverness for just over £40 with no restrictions was pretty good!

Give us some details please, i would like to see how that works!

Work for G.A. so I get free travel on their network as far as Peterborough and £42.37 from there Anytime Return (with the 75% off), something that unfortunately a newbie at a FOC wouldn't be entitled to. Ideal if you're a Northern Lights chaser!

So not really from Ipswich on a priv then is it?

Which is nothing to do with a Freightliner perk.

Exactly, and the whole point of the thread is exactly that - it's a perk that you don't get at Freightliner and a perk well worth having(wherever you live)! Given the salary, lack of travel perks and shift pattern I'm surprised Intermodal actually manage to attract non-safeguarded qualified drivers from TOCs.

So you were just bragging then!

Edit, I did Feltham to Liverpool for £1.60 but it has no relevance to this thread.

But you were claiming something different in your original post which is why we picked up on it.
