'has quick look through piccies of inside of a power car'
Ah yes, the Main Generator has a 'Brush' plate on the outer casing! Thought I'd seen it somewhere!

Brush build transformers too. Hence 'Brush Transformers' on the side of Falcon works.

Would that be the set off the 1650 KX-Sunderland last night? Not in the slightest bit surprised to hear it has burst if so - one dead power car and the other in a complete state making all sorts of noises I've never heard from a tram before  Had lost 30+ minutes to York and the rear coach and power car with a nice covering of oil...

Will GC ever have a trouble-free week?

They really would have been better off with MTUs from the outset...

I just hope that when I finally work my way up north I'll get a problem-free set.

Whilst what you said may be slightly true, do you want to be in a country without Valenta's?

It's just that the way things are going, they may become extinct before my next post on Rail UK... ;)

An empty looking GC HST has just passed here heading north being dragged by something. It seems to have taken it's time getting back to Heaton

Now you know why they chose a black livery and to top it off, the powercars look like they've been painted with tar so you won't notice if all the oil from the inside of the engine is now on the outside.

Good job EWS are there to come to the rescue! ;)

67s en route to Tyne with a rake of stock for tomorrow's fun and games. Please try not to break 67029...

Hope GC have persuaded XC not to take back 43166 at the end of the week...!

just seen the ecs gc stock cross the King Edward Bridge into Newcastle.
Apparently 166 is being collected from Heaton this evening on an Advenza move back to EC.

Can anyone from GC comment on this?
This should explain why the 67's and stock are back on again.

Cheers

Andy

Hopefully the powercars will progress through Brush fairly quickly, they *should* be able to sort em!!

It's just a shame they weren't sent there in the first place - I bet Grand Central's overall costs compared to the cost of this whole fiasco would have been less if they had.

Even more reason to use some heritage traction, might be a good way to recoup some of their costs...
