That makes it sounds scarier for my husband :( It means there is only one position left from Clacton :( If you move would that create another one?

Also, can he ask for Driver Interview for both Clacton and Colchester? More than one depot or will they not do that?

Thanks Dave, you are a legend on this Forum - very helpful :)

Hi got my contract it was for Colchester/Clacton so I was put where the available link was. But the can and do double up or "shadow" on links in the depot so wouldn't get too worried yet until your husband is given the definite no!

So do internals not have to go through the same interview process then?? If the 2 internals you mentioned are already on the next DD course? Because Kevin was told they will not do the Driver Manager Interview until 2 months before the course start date....but if they are in they must not have to do it?

In my experience internals will have to take the managers interview the same as anyone else, qualified drivers get a different question list but as for applicants from different roles they do have the same questions as applicants from outside the company.

Well next DD course is apparently not until August. Internals have to go through the same process, just they get time off from currently job to attend. All I know is they have two internals who have passed the assessments who our AOM wants on next course.

Has anyone moved house in order to take up a job offer? I will be. Wondering if it's worth asking about moving allowance, or whether they'll just laugh in my face.

If I get the job I will be moving, but I only live in Colchester so will probably not move till later during training as the hours won't be silly and I can commute easily..

Still no signs of a contract gents? Was hoping it'd arrive today.

Me too Chris. I need to be handing notice in next week. I expect it is even more tricky for you guys relocating. If you need any info on the cambridge area give me a shout Chris. I am local (around 10 miles from station). Hopefully will arrive today.
regards

do you have any idea how different are those questions for internals coming from different roles ?

Hi Geduzas. The guards who were on the same driving course as me were asked questions about some of the technical stuff. I think their level of knowledge on the subject was perceived to show the extent to which they really wanted the job. They weren't expected to have a thorough knowledge, but to have taken a genuine interest in learning more.

If a guard is going for a drivers job they will be asked exactly the same questions as someone from another industry
