Oh wow I hope I get switched to thameslink if I make it I live Bedford so would be awesome for me

Luton or Cricklewood would be where you're placed. Bedford is reducing driver levels significantly.

Can anyone tell me in the dmi on knowledge of company is it govia or gtr franchise more, as you have parent company Go ahead, then Govia the partnership that encompasses all 3 franchises- Gtr ,southeastern and london midland. Or gtr mainly gn , Thameslink , Southern and gatwick xpress I am trying to learn so much but would like to narrow it down a bit. Any help appreciated

General info about the franchise such as passenger numbers but more individual TOC you're applying for, such as rolling stock, routes, key commitments etc. Check their website and extract Info from there. Good luck.

In my DMI I talked about Thameslink; however they asked me what I knew about Great Northern, too. Luckily I had brushed up on GN!

Ah im not too bad with thameslink route wise I live bedford and use the train quite a few times a year. Thing I am most worried about is there are some contradictions, I dont know if anyone else has noticed

1. On the gtr 1404 in the online portal where you book test centre, interview etc if you get the original page and read down it, I t says you have to be able to get to depot within 45 minutes but 9 lines down on the same page from govia gn it says you have to get to depot within 60 mins.

2. On govia about us it says they made 3.21 billion but on a go ahead site under financial it says they made 3.36 billion so just a small discrepancie of 150 mill.

3. I have seen on a govia/go ahead site that they employ 6500 staff and elsewhere they employ 6800 staff.

I am wondering could someone have failed dmi by quoting a wrong figure despite the differences actually on govia/go ahead sites

Forgot to say I am worried about what the line between confident and cocky might be I learnt every station and commited to memory from peterborough to new southgate 19 stations in well under an hour and remembered every one in order when I got up next day

Hey Baz,
I think that was the first thing they asked me, What do you know about the company? I just gave a 30 second overview, govia, go ahead and keolis, year formed, Gtr and dates, biggest franchise, and then GN briefly, and main routes of gn only. Oh and Charles Horton is the CEO! That's all, nothing crazy. You'll be fine mate.

Hi phoenix thanks mate its just that quite a few people say that you should know about revenue, pax numbers, employee numbers too and if even govia sites contradict themselves then how does anyone know. Go ahead was formed 1987 wasnt it I cant find what year they partnered with keolis tho I can quote the share 65% go ahead 35% keolis tho lol. What did you say about northern in particular mate

I did exactly the same as Phoenix Baz, didn't mention any passenger numbers or stations, I reeled off the GN lines such Fen Line, Northern City etc and the trains they use and when they took over from FCC and they were happy with that

Yes, formed end of 86. All I said about gn were the main routes and that's it, nothing more as they just wanted to move on. Don't sweat that too much, just an overview will be fine.

They just want to see that you have showed a bit of Interest in them, don't need to give tons of numbers/details. Just say Gtr caters for 30/35% of all passenger journeys in UK. Plus those gn routes and all will be good on that front.
