That's the Cumbrian Coast - 'The Carlsile Crusader' nameplate, and that ain't Mk1 stock, which isn't cleared at Maryport i think. St Bees?

Yes! That was a bit of a long shot but it looked really familiar, I assume it was taken during the shuttles for the tall ships?

It certainly was, might have been a bit harder without the wheel. Even though the Tall Ships were there, the only sighting I got of them was when on the train!

Wild guess at Silecroft.

Not Silecoft and too early for clues....

Thanks TB. I've lurked on this forum for about 2 years; you do realise it's this thread that's got me posting? It was the combination of the holiday-type passengers as pointed out by clag - and oddly that red-piped industrial unit that sparked something in my brain and brought back happy holiday memories. Have you recorded the year you took it? Great shot - most effective!

Anyway, my 2nd entry - demonstrating once again my love of the 156 and my inability to frame or light a shot correctly. The lighting was not a deliberate ploy for this quiz - it just came out that way - sorry! I've edited out the destination blind, but otherwise it's just cropped slightly.

No clues for this one to start with - I think it'll jump out if you've visited the place. Good luck!

Unfortunately this game is quite addictive. It is also very frustrating in respect of trying to work out where places are or remembering where you have seen something.

You never know what people are going to know. Some of the very obscure ones go very quickly and some you expect to go quickly last for ages.

I drives my wife mad me playing, but there is nothing to watch on TV and it is something to do of an evening.

Thanks for getting back with the date! That's about the time I would've been spending family days out there as a child, give or take a year. Isn't it funny how odd little details (such as the red piping on the neighbouring building) stick in your mind.

Thanks again for posting a great photo, and I'm afraid I'm unable to pin down from exactly where I recognise the station building in your current one.

That said, I'm fairly confident in trying to help out and saying that as I *do* recognise it; the Cumbrian coast line is probably barking up the wrong tree. I've not - yet - had the pleasure to ride there. The bargain £10 Northern offer will change that over one of the coming weekends :)

Llanwrtyd?

Had to Google the spelling, and can't pronounce it, despite getting off there about 5 times- only ever on a rover so never had to ask for a ticket to there!

Wakefield (Kirkgate) - though the view to the left of the "bus" is making me think I'm wrong and it's a cunning act of deception :)

Ok, here's a quick one. I suspect it'll go first guess!
I'm afraid there's no loco/unit on this picture, but I hope that's ok?

Good luck!

TPE style station, looks like TPE information screens and Siemens CCTV. SIngle platform. So that means Windermere?

I've only just come back after about 40 hours of inactivity...

...and I note that, aside from Pyle [and Llanwrtyd Wells, which is remote - sorry, missed that one], every station is in the north! Can we have a southern one pleae? ;)

Speaking of "Pacer specialists", can I ask something? Are there any differences between 143s and 144s at all, besides number of cars?

Both 143s and 144s have Walter Alexander bodies. 143s have underframes by Andrew Barclay, while 144s have BREL frames. There are only 10 3-car 144s, so the other 13 are outwardly identical to 143s.

Oh dear.
And I was being told off for travelling on 47s.

Llanwrtyd Wells is in the west as well.

Obviously people like to ignore me :(

Knaresborough. If this is right, which I honestly doubt, expect a southern teaser.

What can I say? I'm a northerner. I live in the north. If I keep getting 'em right, then the bulk of the shots I post will be in the north (or Ireland TBF, but that's not much better I don't suppose).

Not Knaresborough.

I haven't the faintest clue (apart from it almost certainly being in Yorkshire) :(

Let's say Penistone. After this, unless someone gives some kind of clue, I give.
