That could be Whitby.

Yes! That was a bit of a long shot but it looked really familiar, I assume it was taken during the shuttles for the tall ships?
Thanks TB. I've lurked on this forum for about 2 years; you do realise it's this thread that's got me posting? It was the combination of the holiday-type passengers as pointed out by clag - and oddly that red-piped industrial unit that sparked something in my brain and brought back happy holiday memories. Have you recorded the year you took it? Great shot - most effective!
Anyway, my 2nd entry - demonstrating once again my love of the 156 and my inability to frame or light a shot correctly. The lighting was not a deliberate ploy for this quiz - it just came out that way - sorry! I've edited out the destination blind, but otherwise it's just cropped slightly.
No clues for this one to start with - I think it'll jump out if you've visited the place. Good luck!
Thanks for getting back with the date! That's about the time I would've been spending family days out there as a child, give or take a year. Isn't it funny how odd little details (such as the red piping on the neighbouring building) stick in your mind.37426 08:15 Nottingham - Blackpool North 03/10/89
Llanwrtyd?
Had to Google the spelling, and can't pronounce it, despite getting off there about 5 times- only ever on a rover so never had to ask for a ticket to there!
Wakefield (Kirkgate) - though the view to the left of the "bus" is making me think I'm wrong and it's a cunning act of deception

Both 143s and 144s have Walter Alexander bodies. 143s have underframes by Andrew Barclay, while 144s have BREL frames. There are only 10 3-car 144s, so the other 13 are outwardly identical to 143s.
Obviously people like to ignore me
Knaresborough. If this is right, which I honestly doubt, expect a southern teaser.
