It appears that the 1015 Padd-Cardiff was 800011 and 800010 this morning instead of the booked HST. Anyone know why? Also, the morning Camarthen-Padd was an HST vice IET this morning.

Would be difficult to pinpoint individual trains as there are swaps and substitutions going on all day long. One reason is drivers not trained resulting in HST vice.

At any rate, there seems to be a decent number of these running now. I saw 800 029 on Wednesday at Reading with covers on the seats, running an ECS service.

Have they taken 800’s off some of the original diagrams as the lists above appear to indicate that has happened? I could understand additional services now appearing as 800’s but not the fact that some of the original diagrams would revert to HST’s?

The LTP passenger workings for the 800 are (from today) as follows;

5 cars (4 diagrams)

1W33, 1P47.
1W14, 1P25, 1W29, 1P42.
1W19, 1P29.
1W12, 1P22, 1W23, 1P33.

10 cars (8 diagrams)

1A03, 1B12, 1L51, 1B40, IL90.
1C02, 1A10, 1B27, 1L65, 1C22.
1A09, 1B25, 1L71, 1C25, 1A33, 1B94.
1C01, 1L48, 1C15, 1A23, 1B69.
1L42, 1B31, 1L68, 1C24, 1A37.
1L08, 1C06, 1A14, 1B37, 1L74, 1C26.
1B05, 1L52, 1C17, 1A25, 1B79.
1L38, 1C13, 1A21, 1B59, 1L96.

When the problems with the Carmarthen coupling and electronic re-boot were on, on some days the IET was put on an alternative diagram, which was due to come in full time on 26th March anyway. This diagram is also used STP if engineering work requires it, such as this week when Mon to Thurs it is substituting for the diagram starting 1L38. The diagram is;

1L24, 1B22, 1L60, 1B51, 1L94.

The 1L42 0730 Carmarthen - Paddington has been a bit hit and miss as a IEP sevice. I observed it last week (Mon - Fri) and it was opperated by HST, it was an IEP Saturday last the 10th, before that the last time it was an IEP was Friday 26th January, and then it departed from Swansea only. Seems to have issues with the two units coupling up, as was the case this morning (departed 40 late). There is presently 2 split 5 car IEP units at Maliphant Depot and 2x5 car unit in the station resady to form the delayed 1L52 1029 Swansea - Paddington.

Are we absolutely certain about 1B94 though? When I went to catch it from Paddington last week it was a HST. Same with 1B15 (which was a shame as that was an 800 two weeks before!)

Take Post #704 as the true picture. They often change over for one reason or another.

The 1B94. Paddington - Swansea has been a regular 800 since Mon 29th Jan, noted exceptions were Fri 2/2, Thur 8/2, Sat 10/2 which were HST opperated.

The 1L42 0730 Carmarthen - Paddington was a 800 today (hst yeterday) seems to be no coupling or door issue's today at Swansea as it departed just 3 down,
The 1L38 Swansea - Paddington has yet to be 800 opperated though.

Well that's really annoying because I was in London last Monday (5th), and I tweeted GWR and they told me it was a HST!

Which it probably was! Just because Ajay1071 noted an HST on certain dates doesn’t mean every other day has seen an IET!
Units may fail, an HST may be substituted for part of a diagram due to staff unavailability/ unfamiliarity etc etc.

And SX changes may happen because of engineering work, especially to first and last trains as they have to come from/go to their designated depots for their mandatory maintenance downtime.

Alright chill, I just thought they were actual listings for every day!
Since Tue 23rd Jan i have made notes of the arrivals and departures from Swansea, listing all thoes opperated by the 800's. From that date i have noted the 1B94 2245. Paddington - Swansea on 19 occasions majority visually, of those 19 occasions 15 have been opperated by the 800's. So in response to your original posting #710 "Are we absolutely certain about the 1B94", i think we can assume that the 1B94 is infact a regular 800 service. As mentioned by other posters things are a bit fluid at the moment on certain 800 services with sort term notice cancellations or substitutions withr HST's due to various reasons. By the way my records show that the 1B94 was an 800 on Mon 5/2.
