Just tried to renew THE gold card and it hasn't been allowed. SWT no longer issue it as a gold card.
So anyone aware of this and what are my options?

This was a renewal to commence on Sunday. The man at Waterloo ticket office scanned my photo card. A message appeared on his screen saying that this season was no longer to be issued as a Gold Card
I wonder if the intention was to stop Ryde season tickets being eligible for the free weekend SWT tickets, and the message has got garbled as it made its way down to the frontline?
Question: can I still use them despite the new Gold Card being for a non SWT trip? I suspect not...
Or you could buy the same Gold Card from a non-SWT outlet?
I think SWT since resolved this problem, albeit probably too late for the original poster.
Could you advise what SWT's solution was please?
Got my own 'ticket to Ryde' renewed yesterday no problem at all!
Emma Chissit?
£168 at today's prices going up to £172 next year.
I renewed mine again yesterday for the seventh time. I'll be eligible for the senior railcard next year so am weighing up the benefits of switching to that. It gives similar discounts to the Gold Card, and countrywide, but I would lose the six free SWT weekend passes, the ability to buy a railcard for someone else for £10, and wouldn't get discount for others travelling with me. And I could buy a £10 senior railcard for myself before the Gold Card expires! Decisions.
I'm determined to make a trip to Ryde next year to see the Esplanade and use my season for the first time after all these years. Perhaps we should have an organised day out for other Ryde ticket holders who have never been there.
This thread worried me as I am on at least my third Ryde Gold Card, I always assumed there were so few of us they didn't worry!I'm determined to make a trip to Ryde next year to see the Esplanade and use my season for the first time after all these years.
