Well you'll have the result of this, then the medical and then find out if you got the job.

There's at least 3 new threads we got to look forward to, or maybe you could have your own forum?

(or maybe you could just continue a thread like everyone else;))

ps Well done for getting this far though:D

It was an unusal kind of interview thats for sure.So do you actually live in Mansfield, and you came all the way to London for your Interviews?
I spoke to someone who was on the morning interviews, cant remember his name, but he wears glasses and i think he works at 3 bridges as a platform manager. He said to me,its not easy but not too bad!

I came down to London on the train last night and stayed at a mates flat so I didnt have to get up mega early this morning.
I think I know who you mean. Is 3 bridges in Brighton?
I never saw anyone from our group after the interviews.

Yeh, based on that it means 40 will be interviewed this week, (I don't think they interview on fridays).

I was interviewed yesterday afternoon. I met a lad who was at Watford for the quick reaction test last week, and he said that the structured interview was "a right grilling", which I can definately confirm !!!

At one point I was asked the same question three times, to which I gave the same answer, as I thought my answer was as detailed and accurate as it could be, but the interviewer, Jo it was, just wouldn't let it go!! I'm sure she was trying to rattle me but she had no joy whatsoever!!!

I felt comfortable with the line manager interview, and my railway experience as a signaller definately helped a lot when it came to all the safety and customer service orientated questions. They even said that one of my PA answers was textbook!!

Good luck to all those that have been interviewed.

If you were asked the same question 3 times then obviously it wasn't detailed enough and they weren't getting the answer they were after.
Not good.

They do not try to "rattle you" but it is structured, IE a fixed set of questions that you must give the correct answers to, if not you fail.

If you pass all the assessments but fail the interview, does that count as one of your two attempts at it?

Not good.

They do not try to "rattle you" but it is structured, IE a fixed set of questions that you must give the correct answers to, if not you fail.

With these interviews, they are looking for evidence of certain competencies. The fact that you have been asked the question several times, indicates that you weren't supplying enough evidence. The interviewer was doing you a favour, by giving you several opportunities to provide this; she wasn't trying to rattle you.

The structured interview is part of the testing process, so if that is what you fail on, it is one of your strikes used up.

Got a letter today from FCC telling me that I have passed all of the assessments and interviews for trainee train driver.
Hooray I cried !!
Then came the "however..."
"However we are limited to a set number of trainee drivers that we can offer contracts to and unfortunately we have reached our quota."
Funny how only last Tuesday at the interviews I asked the two managers when I would start if successful and they said August or September.
Either HR and train managers don't talk to each other or FCC have suddenly decided they need no more trainees.
Talk about having the carpet pulled from under me.
It's not much of a consolation being told that my test results are valid for 3 years and if any vacancies arise in the future I will be offered a job.
I really can't see FCC taking on anymore in the near future, but who knows??
To all those in the same boat, well done on passing everything. So near but yet so far!!
