That's great news for me i won't be working Christmas ! Glad I read it hear first lol ! Just need the x18 added to Dec Rota so we know what's what with that
That was the reason given on facebook in response to people's queries.I assume the reason for no free buses after the bells, is no sponsorship. Last few years has been from Diageo...
Lothian Motorcoaches now own ex Stagecoach / Rennies / Megabus / National Express 53020 (PX03 KCV) (Volvo B12M bodied Plaxton Paragon) it's now on a private plate. Has been sighted outside Longstone Garage post refurb to LMC spec. Methinks LMC may be getting into the school services game.
This coach may be up seated to 70. Cant think of any other reason to buy a vehicle so old, unless they have a surge in work just now or a big contract coming up. This could also be the start of long distance franchise service work.
Apparently a number of these vehicles have been purchased.
What about the Hyvots Bank terminus? I think the E400XLBs would struggle with that. With regard to the 100 seater ADL's I reckon it will be 30 for traffic and 12 for airlink.
Think the 11 and 37 would be a good choice as they could chop a few of the peak runs from them. Could even reroute the 11 to go Leith Walk, Great Junction Street, Western Harbour and the 10 to go down Pilrig Street and Newhaven to OT. This would mean no probems for the ADL's on the 11.
I would imagen that CityLink are already very well established on the 900 for them to attempt that.Maybe LB are going to compete with City Link on the Glasgow route with the new buses.
Lothian to make a bid to run the Scotrail franchise? I honestly can't see that happening. It would be interesting but I can't see it. When (not really an if IMO) Scotrail franchise comes to an end, I think it will go under public ownership in a Scot Gov operated company. If Lothian even made a bid, I'd be shocked... Very interesting thought though! If the Scotrail franchise ends early (currently being held off), then it would not shock me if Lothian made a bid.
The 900 is far too established for Lothian to try to go head to head with it, previous attempts by other operators have failed in the past many times.

What now, ''Scotrail by Lothian''? that would be a big step up!If the Scotrail franchise ends early (currently being held off), then it would not shock me if Lothian made a bid.

You’re probably right.I would imagen that CityLink are already very well established on the 900 for them to attempt that.
And if they did I doubt it would be with double door deckers
The Motorvator made a pretty good attempt. I suspect it might have continued if it hadn't been bought by Stagecoach?
That's sad to hear, is it yet confirmed if it was Trident 649 or not?Trident 700 put in a centre of town appearance yesterday lunchtime on 25s so look like there is still the occasional trident working. One of the ones that has been sold burned out at Gretna when lorry it was parked next to caught fire, reports elsewhere recon 649
699 on the 25 today. 695 on the 42 with a couple running on the C134.Trident 700 put in a centre of town appearance yesterday lunchtime on 25s so look like there is still the occasional trident working. Hi. It's a shuttle bus for Edinburgh University students that travels between buildings.Whats the C134?

Ok , never knew they existed.
On the Tridents it's always displayed as blank, as 'Private' or as service 0 (less common) while on Gemini Ones or Eclipse Twos with LED screens it's sometimes displayed as the mouthful that is 'Edinburgh University Campus Shuttle Bus', I've never seen it displayed as C134 or with 'King's Buildings' or 'Potterow', even though that would be accurate. It's a non stop service only available to UoE students and staff. It only runs for Edinburgh Uni staff/students for travel between Potterrow (At Lothian Street) and King's Buildings - it doesn't show a number and generally destination is blank or shows "Private"
I suspect this was a long standing contract before LCB entered WL?First are running the Christmas/Boxing and New Years Day in West Lothian, I see the 43 is back to every 15mins after Lothian got there backside tanned by public..
