The upcoming scrap move on Monday is expected to be the last one for the year, so in theory there should be 3 units left in service on those dates. Post Christmas they're only expected to see limited use though with an increase of 777 diagrams..

It was on 0921 off HNX this morning. It stands down at SOP. Believe it then comes out for peak unless things change. Happy hunting.

Oh, that's a pity. Looks like It did work 1624 ex SOP ending late night at HNX ECS to Kirkdale.

507001 worked the 1421 Hunts X - Southport today, then later formed the 1539 and 1954 departures from Southport. Services were affected by an unspecified 'operational incident' near Hightown, leading 507001 on the 1539 to stand at Freshfield for 20 minutes as the light faded. Great to see it looking resplendent again after a wash!

The all-508 pair did the 1757 from Southport and 1909 return from South Parkway.

003 and 020 both on Birkenhead waiting reps. Think 20 has been out of service since early November?

507020 is still stabled in the farmost siding at Southport, where it has been since early November.

507028 has been in the adjacent siding for the last few days. This unit is also apparently unfit for service.

508104 was on 2U16 0924 Southport to Hunts Cross this morning. I saw it at Sandhills at 1006 and knew that if it stuck to the diagram it would re-appear on 2U36 at 1506 as my train back to Liverpool South Parkway. It did and I think that the journey will be my last ride on a Class 508.

Sunday 24/12: 508114 is on the Chester line today, working the 14.15, 15.45 from Liv Cen etc. There's a chance this could be the last 508 on this line, so well worth a ride for the sake of auld lang syne. Sunday's two booked Ellesmere Port 507/8s are 507013 and 507030.

For anyone interested, 507001 on the Southport line once more (10.36, 13.06 off Hunts X etc.), making it 24 days of service in a row for this unit since its re-livery. There were two six-cars out of five sets on the Southport route: 507018 + 508104 (09.06 off Hunts X) and 507015 + 507017 (09.36). Other units out were 507021 (10.06 off HNX) and 507032 (11.06) whilst 507002 + 508108 were stabled in the wall and 507010 + 507028 in the back sidings at Southport, where 507020 continues to languish.

Others out were 507016 and 507031 on the New Brighton line, and 507004, 507011 and 507029 on the West Kirby line.

A broken down train on the Ellesmere Port line this evening at Little Sutton, cancelling the final few services into and out of Ellesmere Port.
To the best of my knowledge it was 507013 which broke down, with 507030 being sent to rescue the unit.

As from this coming Wednesday 507/8s should (!) only be on the New Brighton, Southport and Hunts Cross lines with all other lines operated by 777s Mon to Sat. Sundays will still see a mixture for the next few weeks.
