I sat in Victoria Bus Station today for close to half an hour waiting for a "the threes B". In that time I saw a total of 4 people get off Citylink, and only 1 person getting on.

The bloke stood with a trolley was not doing much to help, although I'm not sure what he's supposed to do either.

New Logo?

Part of a 'refreshed' image according to Alex Hornby, who is also Kinch's comercial director.

Kinch are also due new ticket machines soon, to replace the 20 year old ones they're currently using!

Note they've also used the Trent technique of removing the Wrightbus 'W' from the front

I've made the same observations in Derby. It's almost painful to watch!

It surely cannot carry on for long!

Well it is exTB so won't it have been removed under them? Or did they not remove them on solars?

It's only a recent practice, whilst the Eclipses arrived without them, the ones for skylink were the first to have it changed, 638 operated for Trent Barton with the 'w' intact.

A few operators seem to be using blank panels now. Makes me think of UPS (who in the States at least debadge all vehicles as they view it as free advertising!)

I'm sure I read/heard that the Mercedez Badges are an optional extra on the Citaros.

NCT also used to remove all manufacturer badges as a rule - it started to be relaxed in the 80s.

.

I'm not sure thats true, but I think that stemmed from the rumour that MB didn't like not putting badges on, but this was quashed when it was said that not having the badge is an option when ordering

Blank Front Panels are a customer option, Berlin certainly orders blanks (which used to have Brandenburg Gate on them, now they have "BE BERLIN"), Hamburg is another that has debadged Citaros

Yeah I thought so

If the customer is willing to pay for it then Merc will do anything within reason - see the custom bodies for Hannover (with some since sold to Leipzig) - the risk is if they don't then MAN (and increasingly Poland's Solaris) will get the order..

Plus knowing how these option lists work a £20 panel will be £150 to have specced on a new vehicle! (Default is to have the badge - customer would pay for the alternative panel - or order enough and it'll probably be complimentary)

Although it's outside of Nottingham, the closure of the Yourbus operations at Tuxford has been further confirmed by the appearance of some TM Travel timetables for their former 8, 34, 44, 89 and 90 routes. It's not been confirmed anywhere, but Travel Wright of Newark are apparently going to be running the 36 between Retford and Ollerton - though possibly not as a through service.

There's a bus quality partnership in place in Nottingham, part of which means non DDA vehicles cannot stop at any stop in the city centre other than at Victoria or Boradmarsh bus stations. The exceptions are Red Arrow and Club Class as try ran prior to the signing. This prevents non DDA vehicles from stopping at Nottingham train station.

Thank you for this. Is it statutory or non-stat?

This is true, but RA and CC only get away with it because there is a parralel DDA compliant service (IGO/i4) that also serves all the stops. Don't know how they get away with Parliament Street on the RA though!

Or that Trent are untouchable.

I am pretty sure i saw a Citylink sticker on the flagpole at Bramcote when i passed it on Friday

You will have done, as they have been stopping there.
I suspect the traffic commissioner has insisted that they register the change as they are legally required to do.

Well NCT have said in their march service changes that they will only be running a bus every 15 minutes to Chilwell due to Tram works, looks like this could be good for the Y36

They're also giving up the 33 to Nottingham Community Transport after a grand total of 5 months.
