Railcam are delighted to announce our next cam location, our biggest install to date, and a location that anyone who is anyone will recognise as one of the biggest in British railways history, Railcam Crewe.
We are thrilled to be working in partnership with the team at Crewe Heritage Centre, to bring you stunning views of the lines around Crewe North Junction signal box.
We have installed 2 of the most high specification cameras we have ever used, all with top quality sound, this all adds up to the biggest install we have ever undertaken. We could not take on installations like this without the very kind donations of our Railcam supporters, and with this in mind we have opted to run the cameras for VIPs & Supporters only for a short evaluation period prior to a full launch at 17:00 on Tuesday the 24th February. This has and will enable us to modify, tinker and generally mess with the cam settings to get them exactly as we want them ready for launch. VIP members consist of administrators, cam hosts, site contributors and those who have made the kind of substantial donations which have helped to fund the installation.
Crewe Cam 1 will cover the Chester Line and the Crewe Heritage Centre site, including the Heritage Centre access line.
Crewe Cam 2 will cover the WCML North, Manchester Line, WCML South/Crewe Station and a possible view of the freight avoider north of Crewe station.
As always the cams will be supplemented by a mini signalling diagram and stills gallery, so even if you are away from the desktop you can still catch up with whats been happening.
We would like to thank Mike, Sam and the whole team for welcoming us to Crewe Heritage Centre and giving us the full backing to bring this fabulous location to our collection, and of course our Railcam admin team for giving up their free time to survey the site and install the equipment.
We would also like to thank all our valued Railcam Supporters, who have together made this project possible.

Railcam are delighted to bring you our latest cam location and our second in Scotland, RAILCAM SANQUHAR.
Railcam Sanquhar is the first cam to go live after a bumper installation weekend. Although we have tried hard to expand our coverage in Scotland since the launch of Railcam Dalmuir, we have found it increasingly difficult to get past an initial couple of emails or a site survey, but thankfully we came into contact with Peter Rushton. Peter is the owner of The Station Masters House (
www.sanquharstation.co.uk), a Scottish Tourist Board five-star rated, self-catering house, beautifully restored from the former station buildings, right on the platform. What better position for a Railcam installation?
Our cam will feature regular ScotRail passenger services covering the Glasgow to northern England route, as well as freight working in and out of (amongst others) New Cummock, Hunterston and Greenburn Keir Mining.
As always we must thank our Railcam Supporters, it is the donations made by these very kind people than makes our new cam installations possible, without these this entirely donation funded site would cease to be. Also a special mention to our admin team, who gave up their free time to travel up to Sanquhar and install all the equipment, and of course our newest cam host Peter.
Railcam Sanquhar is now LIVE to all Railcam members, We hope you enjoy the latest edition to our site, as we continue to Bring the Lineside to your Armchair
