Hi Dave,

We appear to be having a few issues at the minute, we are aware and are looking into them, we believe its a problem at GoDaddy's end, we are chasing it up as we speak.

Good afternoon Railcam fans, we are delighted to announce the first of our 3 current new cam installs, RAILCAM BOLTON LE SANDS.

Bolton le Sands (BLS) is situated just south of Carnforth and we have gone a little different with this one. We have gone for a more scenic view of the landscape which feature the WCML lo the left and bottom of the cam and looking over the fields and into the distance you can see Morecambe Bay. Associated mini diagrams will be available soon to go with this cam. We would like to thank Mark at Freightmaster (www.freightmaster.net) for hosting the cam and helping us along with our ever expanding Live Signalling Diagrams. Please take a moment of your time to pop by his site, a must for the freight fans out there.

Thank you again to all those out there who have taken the time to make a donation to Railcam, without these we would simply not be able to install these new cams.

We are aware of the current difficulties in signing into Railcam at the moment, we have located the problem and are in contact with the relevant people as we speak. Please accept our apologies for this downtime.

Good evening Railcam fans, we are delighted to announce our latest addition to our Railcam network,

RAILCAM PORTSMOUTH

Railcam Portsmouth is situated between Fratton and Portsmouth and Southsea stations and is our first dip into 3rd rail territory. The cam will almost exclusively see unit action from Southern, South West Trains and First Great Western, featuring classes 158, 159, 313, 444 & 450, as well as the occasional charter train during the summer.

A ‘mini-diagram’ will accompany the cam once we have it running and tested. Sound will also be enabled very soon.

We would like to thank Andy (HSTANDY) down in Portsmouth for providing the location and installing the cam. We would also like to once again thank the kind members out there who have donated to Railcam, because without your help we would not be able to continue to install these new cams. Speaking of new cams, keep a look out for another 2 cams coming very soon.......

Not sure if this been mentioned before, if US rail gets you going you should look at this site.

http://www.railstream.biz/live-cameras-free/chesterton-in-west-free

Obviously not good in the morning here because of the time difference, too dark, after lunch until midnight certainly worth a look. I have seen and identified( you can read the loco numbers if you wish) thousands of locomotives from many different railroads, a very good watch.
After a period you will find the page locks out and you will need to refresh. I subscribe to the site which gives you unlimited access
and have access to 5 camera but i think Chesterton West is the best followed by Berea ( sub required)

We are delighted to be working with the team over at the Swanage Railway to bring you one of the most instantly recognisable preserved railway locations in the UK, which will feature regular steam and diesel workings with Corfe Castle providing a stunning backdrop to this superb location.

Timetables are available for Corfe Castle at Swanage Railway's website at http://www.swanagerailway.co.uk/ and you can also follow Swanage Railway on Twitter @SwanRailway

Services for Friday 19th September are booked to be steam hauled with trains calling at Corfe Castle at 10:20, 10:42, 11:40, 12:02, 13:00, 13:22, 14:20, 14:42, 15:40, 16:02, 17:00 & 17:22.

We would like to thank everyone at Swanage Railway for giving us the opportunity to bring this iconic location to Railcam, The cam will also feature on Swanage Railway's own website.

Unfortunately due to privacy issues there will be no sound on this cam, and at the moment there will be no mobile friendly feed, but we aim to have a mobile feed soon.

Thanks to the commission of a new webcam by the Friends of West Somerset Railway it is once again possible to view trains at Minehead Station. The new webcam is situated on the Signal Box overlooking the platform ends and should provide excellent views of movements of trains arriving and departing along with light locomotive trips to and from the turntable. This is the first fully funded and completed project of FoWSR who are justly proud of the achievement. The webcam can be viewed on the front page of www.fowsr.org.uk the Friends of West Somerset Railway website or, by kind permission of FoWSR, from the link under the webcams menu item on wsr.org.uk

The webcam I think you want at Helmond is actually at Mierlo-Hout, a local station just outside Helmond (can be seen clearly on Google maps) and the Home Page is www.railcam.nl, then select which camera you want, 1 is the main view of the level crossing.

RAILCAM & BRITISH RAILWAY CAMS NETWORK BECOME ONE

It is with great delight that we can announce that Railcam and British Railway Cam Network (BRCN) are coming together to bring you the very best railway lineside broadcasting there is to offer in the UK, if not the world.

We are aiming to have both sites fully integrated under the Railcam banner in early November, Andy Jebb (BRCN owner) will be joining the Technical Administrator Team to assist with the ‘Techie’ elements, as well as bringing huge experience in website development gained whilst setting up and maintaining brcn.co.uk. Cheers

I've been watching a busy Dutch webcam http://railcam.nl/railcam-1/ for a week or so. Plenty of trains in number and variety with passenger and freight. Gone midnight today I was witness to the aftermath of something I couldn't have predicted. After finishing watching a recorded TV programme I returned to this webcam and saw a number of police, ambulances and a fire engine round the crossing with flashing lights and people on the track using torches. It gradually dawned on me they were searching the track after an incident of some sort. Sad to say they eventually took a covered body on a stretcher back onto the crossing and into an ambulance. A sobering two hours. :( After searching on an English language Dutch news site it transpired Holland tops the European railway suicide league:http://www.dutchnews.nl/news/archives/2009/09/holland_tops_railway_suicides.php/

We have taken the plunge this morning and moved over to our brand new host at Bytemark Hosting and this also includes a brand new address, you will now find us at www.railcam.uk (no .org).

A lot of work has gone into this move, many many weeks of ups and downs with our old provider left us with no option but to press ahead and get moved ASAP. There will be the odd teething problem, so please stick with us while we iron those out, but we are working flat out trying to get all the little links pointing to the right places!

Please change your bookmark to www.railcam.uk as the old site will no longer be available, you will be automatically redirected to our new home.

Our cams are at Barking, Bedford, Bishops Lydeard (West Somerset Railway), Bolton Le Sands, Clitheroe, Corfe Castle (Swanage Railway), Cramlington, Dalmuir, Euxton, Flitwick, Goole, Langley Mill, Minehead (West Somerset Railway), Todmorden, Watford Junction & York.

Thank You,
Railcam Admin Team

Railcam are delighted to announce our next cam location, our biggest install to date, and a location that anyone who is anyone will recognise as one of the biggest in British railways history, Railcam Crewe.

We are thrilled to be working in partnership with the team at Crewe Heritage Centre, to bring you stunning views of the lines around Crewe North Junction signal box.

We have installed 2 of the most high specification cameras we have ever used, all with top quality sound, this all adds up to the biggest install we have ever undertaken. We could not take on installations like this without the very kind donations of our Railcam supporters, and with this in mind we have opted to run the cameras for VIPs & Supporters only for a short evaluation period prior to a full launch at 17:00 on Tuesday the 24th February. This has and will enable us to modify, tinker and generally mess with the cam settings to get them exactly as we want them ready for launch. VIP members consist of administrators, cam hosts, site contributors and those who have made the kind of substantial donations which have helped to fund the installation.

Crewe Cam 1 will cover the Chester Line and the Crewe Heritage Centre site, including the Heritage Centre access line.

Crewe Cam 2 will cover the WCML North, Manchester Line, WCML South/Crewe Station and a possible view of the freight avoider north of Crewe station.
As always the cams will be supplemented by a mini signalling diagram and stills gallery, so even if you are away from the desktop you can still catch up with whats been happening.

We would like to thank Mike, Sam and the whole team for welcoming us to Crewe Heritage Centre and giving us the full backing to bring this fabulous location to our collection, and of course our Railcam admin team for giving up their free time to survey the site and install the equipment.

We would also like to thank all our valued Railcam Supporters, who have together made this project possible.

For more information on Railcam please visit www.railcam.uk or find us on Facebook at www.facebook.com/railcamlive and Twitter at www.twitter.com/railcamlive

For more information on Crewe Heritage Centre visit www.crewehc.co.uk or find them on Facebook at www.facebook.com/crewehc and Twitter at www.twitter.com/creweheritage

Railcam are delighted to bring you our latest cam location and our second in Scotland, RAILCAM SANQUHAR.

Railcam Sanquhar is the first cam to go live after a bumper installation weekend. Although we have tried hard to expand our coverage in Scotland since the launch of Railcam Dalmuir, we have found it increasingly difficult to get past an initial couple of emails or a site survey, but thankfully we came into contact with Peter Rushton. Peter is the owner of The Station Master’s House (www.sanquharstation.co.uk), a Scottish Tourist Board five-star rated, self-catering house, beautifully restored from the former station buildings, right on the platform. What better position for a Railcam installation?

Our cam will feature regular ScotRail passenger services covering the Glasgow to northern England route, as well as freight working in and out of (amongst others) New Cummock, Hunterston and Greenburn Keir Mining.

As always we must thank our Railcam Supporters, it is the donations made by these very kind people than makes our new cam installations possible, without these this entirely donation funded site would cease to be. Also a special mention to our admin team, who gave up their free time to travel up to Sanquhar and install all the equipment, and of course our newest cam host Peter.

Railcam Sanquhar is now LIVE to all Railcam members, We hope you enjoy the latest edition to our site, as we continue to ‘Bring the Lineside to your Armchair’

I am a fully paid up Premium member and although its a little expensive i get great enjoyment from the cameras.

Are the extra cameras on the premium membership busy with traffic? I'm interested in the Chicago one mainly, with the skyline backdrop.
