Presumably these are sights? This thread refers to haulages! (If no, I'd like to know when you got 08922 as I require it )

Just sights on the whole, but they get the red line underline treatment in my book. :D
08922 was shunting 66048 and 67023 around at Toton last week.

Had a long drive south yesterday and scored 03197 at Mangapps. Great place and well worth a visit - despite only having a short running line, there's plenty to see and always movements going on.

Another one crossed off thanks to the interweb, and the staff of the local research section of the library who established the date of the Rochdale Wakes holidays in 1977.

I travelled on the up Flying Scotsman from Edinburgh to York on the first Tuesday of the wakes fortnight. The library established that this was 21/06/1977. The Chronicles of Napier website states that Queens Own Highlander hauled the train on that day.

So that's the red pen for 55004 35 years after the event:)

My "red pen" has been active throughout the year - in fact at it's most active for many a year. My target at the beginning of the year was to make a serious attempt at knocking a hole in the 1,000 or so DMU/EMUs that I still needed to ride. Without boring others with lists of hits so far this year, I will give a general summary of where I am with DMUs - I still need about 430.

I have tried to concentrate on older DMUs and had a good deal of success with the 142s which are coming down nicely (one Arriva and 17 Northern ones left). A trip to Cardiff saw off all my required 143s so with only four fGW ones so a day out in Exeter beckons. 144s need a lot of work while the 150s are another success story with 22 left to get spread accross all companies that run them (at the beginning of the year there were well over 50 on the wants list). I have scored a good bunch of 153s but with still plenty on my wants list to keep me amused in years to come. 156s are similar with the book screaming Scotland! I have hit 24 158s but still need plenty of them -again a Scotland trip is needed. We are almost there with the 159s and 166s which were already in good shape prior to the start of the year. fGW 165s have been sorted for many a year so need to spend some time on Chiltern ones which should also help my 168 lists go down.

I have had a good go at Greater Anglia 170s this year and was already very strong on Cross Country ones but as ever SCOTLAND is the weakest link along with the London Midland ones. Southern 171s are an embarrassment (I live in the South East). 172s are too new to worry about at the moment. 175s are coming down slowly - I seem to get another one every time I go near their operating territory. 180s need some attention, particularly Grand Central ones and 185s are coming along nicely. I have travelled on very few voyagers so plenty of work to do when I am bored although the 222 variant is coming down nicely.

I still need 400 EMUs. Again Scotland features strongly. Otherwise need to look at Classes 357, 375, 379, 395, 444 and 450 to make major inroads into those totals.

On the plus side, I have managed to travel on all members of the following Classes
313
315
319
322
332
376
442
455
456
458
465
466
(and for a while, 377s were fully up to date but the delivery of the 377/5 sub class saw the revered status of "Class Cleared" removed)

Try this , it has had two works numbers as it has been re-built.

Also to add for me:

5322 (Think that I might have previously had this at Caerphilly when I was still in primary school!)
(30)925
31806
34053
43106 (pretty sure I have had this before but do not have any written record)
44932

That's a fair few kettles you've been scratching in over the summer. I'm hoping for 3 new ones at the SVR Steam Gala later this month - 30120, 31806 and 34053. I'll be quite pleased if I get them all, it will take me almost down to single figures for the number of currently operational ex-BR steam that I've yet to travel behind.

Well, there isn't much that is easily attainable for me modern traction-wise in the UK at the moment.

One more to add for today; I got desperate and scratched 70000 (Britannia) in between Woking and Ely. It wasn't plan "A" due to a slight delay getting "off the shed" this morning but at least it means I have "cleared the class"

20189 was my embarassing red pen for the year! Not that I'm really arsed being more of a photographer than a basher, but still!

I presume you had that with Sarah Siddons? I remember when 20189 was rather 'large', it was MC Metals scrapyard shunter, and Bo'ness managed to get it for one of its galas.

Correct! Sarah Siddons was also the recipient of a 'red pen' quote!

The back half of September was expected to net me a few new locos - so far I've got 50% (ie 3 of the 6) of what I expected over the past 2 weekends. The 66/70 on Pathfinder last weekend went out of the window owing to the tour's cancellation, and the 04 failed to produce at the Churnet Valley (nice of the railway to inform passengers before it was booked to work, not! <( ), but I did manage trips behind 30120, 31806 and 34053 at the SVR.

The 04 worked its booked turn on Saturday, but was suffering badly from wheelslip and needed assistance from the DMU on return from Froghall.

Just found another one!

18/9/2012 - 43423 and 484 from York to Eaglescliffe. I've sampled 123/423 that many times I assumed its partner was bound to be a non-winner also - however if 484 was formerly 084 then le plume rouge will be called into action again...

Things are still going well for me this year having topped 300 hits by the end of September - the 159s managed to reachieve the sought after "Class Cleared" status last weekend when I happened to fall into 159105 & 159107 (with 159101 thrown in for good measure) on the 16:20 Waterloo to Exeter. That's only the second DMU class cleared (and for a second time as I had originally cleared up in this department long before the 159/1s were conceived) joining with the 155s which fell by the wayside several years ago. What's the next I wonder? Classes 139, 143 and 166 must all be contenders.

A successful weekend (for once!) over the past two days. A visit to the SVR on Friday produced an enjoyable day out behind various locos, which included the elusive 08471. On Saturday, I headed north to the GCR, stopping off at Solihill for a 'ned leap' on 66067 to New Street, made even more productive by the fact I came back to Solihull on 172334(my last Class 172). The GCR gave me 925 Cheltenham, my fourth Southern 'kettle' in recent weeks.
