If that is indeed the case then this has become a strike, although I havent been made aware of any strikes coming up.

Suggests it's a journey planning data issue - have you tried another site?
The Trainline, RJIS, auto-announcer - all say no trains 
Internal document: XC-TSD/B/0014e says the route isn't open for trains, but the one I saw earlier (Changes to train times_Sun_10_to_Thu_14_Dec_ 2017.pdf) says it is. (It's the one with grey on all the routes that are open, looks like poster proof.) Was accomanied by a timetable (09DMR17 TABLE 51.pdf) that also has times and suggests a "4VOY" will run at certain times on that route (13:52, 15:52, 17:52, 20:52 departures from BHM to LEI)

- LOL! Really? Do you think they do that now? Is that not shown to be false by this current situation
Point 5 - there are many industries now where working weekends and out of hours shifts attract no premium at all, particularly in hospitality and health care, plus many manufacturing settings. We now live in a 7 day a week society, and working patterns need to adapt to that.

Strikes confirmed last night for 23rd and 27th December to go with tomorrow's strike action. Doesn't help that management grades are also apparently in dispute now too...
Indeed it does look like no trains? A journey enquiry in National Rail App for Birmingham to Leicester tomorrow from 0700, 1000, 1200 shows no trains. Brings up Sunday morning.

Nah, if the company wants me to work sundays inside the working week then they will have to compensate me properly it. You may live in a 7 day working week but not all of us want to do so, and are less willing to hand over hard fought conditions so willy nilly.
Its that simple. What other industries do is irrelevant to me or this debate quite frankly.

I refer you back to the start, post 10, apparently XC are happy with the status quo, ie Sundays outside the working week, this action is an attempt by train managers to force XC into bringing Sundays into the working week. Bizarre as that sounds.

I don't think you'd find a great many XC TMs who want Sunday inside the working week...

Working weekends instead of weekdays is actually beneficial for some people i.e. those without children who aren't religious. For instance, doing your shopping is much easier on a weekday than at the weekend.
Those who are religious can opt out of Sunday working even if their employer has a 7 day week - Dan Walker from BBC Breakfast/Sport is a well known person who opted out of Sunday working due to being a practicing Baptist. Although, not everyone who is religious does opt out - Rachel Burden from BBC Radio 5/weekend Breakfast works occasional Sundays despite being a practicing Catholic.

The way I read the timetable is that there's an hourly service from Birmingham to Leicester (and vice versa) tomorrow, calling at intermediate stations.
East of Leicester, towards Peterborough, apart from one morning and one evening train to Cambridge, everything else is buses.
That map was for the first strike - there should be services to Bournemouth and Plymouth this time. See here for the maps for this weekend.

Oh well, that should go a long way towards mitigating only 5 trains all day tomorrow on the NE/SW route!

Anyone using VTWC today due to XC cancellations should perhaps prepare themselves for Virgin’s excellent customer service; I’m on a Virgin from Manc to Euston and “there’s no strike today” so I “should have got CrossCountry” as “we’re not accepting XC tickets”.
What are management grades in dispute over?
I'm sorry, but the fact is that XC have not arranged for VTWC to take their passengers, so the staff are quite right not to accept your ticket, even if they are wrong about the strike.
Go here for details of what XC are providing. There's a bad link for Travel Updates on their website, so you need to navigate there manually using the menu.

I must say that it's quite refreshing to see, as a result of this, Crosscountry running a less frequent service of actual proper length trains for a change, with passengers evenly dispersed down the platform along the length of a nine carriage train, rather than 200 people huddled round the doors of three carriages of a 4-car unit. There's spare pairs of seats and everything - a pity they are unable to provide this sort of capacity every day.

I saw this, its particularly odd as there doesn't appear to be any adverse weather between Bristol and Taunton. The M5 is flowing fine and there is no snow.
Apparently the supplier is refusing to provide vehicles or something along those lines.

Snow was forecast for later in the day and indeed it is now snowing in Bristol.... Taunton is due to get a dusting in the late afternoon. May well be the supplier was concerned about replacement buses getting delayed later in the day.

What is the position if XC have cancelled the rail replacement?
From my reading of the NRCOT they would still have to get passengers to there destination if they have scheduled the bus replacement in advance.

I can report on my journey yesterday (Saturday) from Cornwall to Derby. First leg on GWR to Taunton was crowded, and beyond Plymouth standing. RRB coaches waiting at Taunton to transfer to Bristol. Left Bristol on a 9 car XC service destined for Newcastle with plenty of room until New St when hordes descended with the result it was standing north from Birmingham. I left train at Derby when there was a substantial number of passengers waiting to board.
