Wouldn't hold out much hope of refurbs coming to inverness plan is to operate them between Glasgow and ediEdinbu to aberdeen before even considering them for Inverness runs we won't see a refurb in service till next year easily
I'll eat my hat if there are 10 or more refurbs in full regular service by 31/12/19. From today that would require 1 set per month to be delivered and be carrying passengers. Not going to happen.
15 sets all 2+4. That's my bet
Might have to write these mystic predictions down and see who is closest.....
So for the above to be done, 15 sets, set 5 needs to be delivered in 32 days....
Set 5 is suppose to not be far behind 4
Then again far behind might mean a month or so lol
Why do you think that? All the evidence points to the contrary. Do you have some other information or is it just faith?
Set 4 is ready (at least the coaches are), it was the power car that had a problem. Then Set 3 came north and Set 4 was said to be nearly there or something similar.
Take it that there is no urgency to fix the power car then?.Set 4 is ready (at least the coaches are), it was the power car that had a problem.
Perhaps it's not a simple fix away from depot.Take it that there is no urgency to fix the power car then?.
What makes you say that?Take it that there is no urgency to fix the power car then?.
Because every time a set is ready to leave Wabtec, there is always a technical problem with one of the power cars and I feel that they should be given an MOT service before they are sent to Doncaster to collect the refurbs. What makes you say that?
Given how far behind the programme is then waiting till the weekend rather than bringing it North as soon as it is ready does show a lack of urgencyBack in reality, the train's waiting for it's path to Scotland this weekend, rather than there not being any sense of urgency.
It also seems like Wabtec doesn't want to let go of all its hard work.Given how far behind the programme is then waiting till the weekend rather than bringing it North as soon as it is ready does show a lack of urgency
Right, just drive out onto one of the busiest routes in the country without a path...Given how far behind the programme is then waiting till the weekend rather than bringing it North as soon as it is ready does show a lack of urgency

The train could be given the some path as the last time, just on a different day! What part of "the train's waiting for it's path" wasn't clear in the post you quoted?
This isn't Thomas the Tank Engine or a model railway. Trains can't just run to where they need to be willy-nilly.
The same path should be booked for every dayThe train could be given the some path as the last time, just on a different day!
You may have noticed that not all trains run on all days. If someone else has a conflicting bath, then ScotRail/Wabtec/whoever can't have it. And I imagine that Network Rail charges for booking them, so quite understandable that they won't have blocked out a path every day for the next 6 months! The train could be given the some path as the last time, just on a different day!
With respect, no. Please stop. The same path should be booked for every day
Plenty paths available, just no will on the part of Wabtec/Scotrail to do anything other than the easy option. What part of "the train's waiting for it's path" wasn't clear in the post you quoted?

Agree on the paths part, maybe they do not have a driver available to drive it? Sure it's ROG doing the transfers and they are usually able to do anything given notice but they may have no spare drivers for during the week for the requested moves, only weekend maybe?Plenty paths available, just no will on the part of Wabtec/Scotrail to do anything other than the easy option.
If thats the case why was the set not delivered last weekend.Agree on the paths part, maybe they do not have a driver available to drive it? Really, in the grand scheme of things a three or four day delay isn't going to be the end of the world so why rush things?Plenty paths available, just no will on the part of Wabtec/Scotrail to do anything other than the easy option.
As stated in the thread, one of the power cars had a compressor fault. If thats the case why was the set not delivered last weekend.
