It's quite a task to close stations, it's not something you do overnight either
Perhaps ScotRail could consider what has happened to several of the smaller stations along the WCML, such as Norton Bridge
Officially this station is still open, but there is no longer a bridge, so no public access, and no rail services
I've seen another station recently that is in good upkeep, yet it too is fenced off with signs that a local bus is available from the main gate
However, if franchise includes specific service levels from these stations then they have no choice but to serve them
Personally, I too have never seen the point of retaining these smaller stations between Broughty Ferry and Arbroath
It really is a two edged sword, the service is poor so few people use it, if the service was better then it may be better, but the previous and current demand does not confirm this
