Does anyone know whether 159101-108 will receive the new SWR livery after all the 159/0s have been done; as they had the amended SWT livery applied with PRM mods just before SWT ended; and if they do the same as GWR, 150219 and 238 had their PRM mods and the amended FGW livery applied just before they re-branded and they are still in the FGW livery now and it doesn't look like they are in any rush of repainting them...

Thanks.

Does anyone know when the BIG diesel refurb will start and where it will happen.
I hope they'll be gutted and thoroughly refurbed like the GWR ones.

I know that the GWR 150s and 158s have received the accessible toilets so are the SWR 158s and 159s receiving these when they go up to Loughborough for their refurbs?

Yes, the SWR 158/159 fleet is getting PRM mods at Loughborough.

The accessible toilet on the 158/159 was already semi compliant so there’s not a huge amount that needs to be done. 150 and turbos was a much larger project

Does this mean all the mid-coach First Class sections are now moved?

Will the two vinyled Desiros be changed to the paint version later?

And will they get a better nameplate for The D-Day Story, as it looks so tacky and, well, literally stuck on? Maybe where the other unit nameplates typically went?

Post #2587 refers, all those in red will still have the usual first class section surely? The 450/5s had all been refitted back to normal in the first area by SWT.

Painting will be required as part of the planned body overhauls. Thevinyl liveries are wrong now anyway.

Saw a resplendent 450 in swr colours outside northam today looks great better than the 442s. Can't remember if the roof was white

Saw a pair of 442s on the netley road as well

I assume that's 450036 that you saw. There are photos on Facebook. Looks very striking.

Ah, I was not aware of that little tidbit.
Yes, once “first” was refitted, (done after the 458/5s we’re back in service), they were left with only the slightly lower standard capacity - where a few seats (and waste bins) had been removed near the doorways they weren’t put back. But the /5 designation wasn’t really necessary by then, (in my opinion), because the 28 units were diagrammed normally again. A few seats either way doesn’t really justify a sub-class.

I must admit the odd seat removed did make it much easier to navigate through the carriage. The ones that stick out right in front of the inter-car corridor are the worst.

The 450s seem to be gaining the blue dots above the new First Class sections. Seems very odd to have waited until nearly the end of the project to do it, just as the repaint project starts.

I imagine it's been realised that the minimal signage otherwise was completely inadequate.

450036 out in service today, saw it just now on the back of 1A28. Very shiny.
Looks much better than 111.

It certainly does.
I see they still have the First mentality of plastering corporate logos all over the place. Very much a case of bare bodyside, stick a logo on it.

I always think that’s a sign of an organisation with insecurities.

Was yesterday the first day in traffic for 036? I did notice it at Waterloo last night but unfortunately it was arriving while we were leaving, so the only picture I did manage to grab of it was rather rushed and blurred. It does look rather smart though, especially with the white roof (fine for the EMU Fleet, not for the DMU fleet) however, I do too agree with the comments about the rather large and shouty SW R logos.

They do seem to love over plastering their logos don't they. It's even noticeable on the durge of a livery GWR where some stock has the logo placed twice per carriage, others just the once.

Found a photo of 450036 in the SWR livery
Thats interesting, compared to 444/006 and the 159 liveries. Its more of a blue colour than grey on the main body of the train. Looks alot better now the yellow first class markers and blue markers around the doors are on

one nice improvement over 111 is the yellow on the cab ends looks neat and fits alot better around the cab

I think the exterior first class markings are quite misleading in the way they run over and round the doors, clearly the position of the interior partition doors means that that vestibule area is rightly in standard class. There’s going to be a few people who want the middle of the coach doubting whether they can use that first set of doors; and they said improving dwell times is important...

You just beat me to it! Unless the Conditions have changed you cannot stand in First class area with a standard ticket!

The dark blue-grey looks more blue or more grey depending on light conditions. I doubt if it's a different shade from that already applied to other units.
