"pure" alumnimium is pretty rare. A lot of aircraft structure is 2024 (often T3)- a duralumin-type alloy, presumably train bodies are made of something similar or 7000-series (as found on newer aircraft)?

Yep, I'm sure that I've seen it specifically stated that the Pendolino bodyshell is made from a duralumin alloy.
