I can't believe this thread's still going!! I was the one who started it I'm on my first week of traction now, final rules completed a few weeks ago. It's a tough course but well worth it. Good luck to all of you waiting!

Glad your enjoying it, wer all eagerly as passionate to recieve that all important call for a start date... Theres been a lull in the allocation of courses, hoping things get moving asap

I was told 29th or 7th and apparently that's not happening for me now. They were looking for people closer to the depot in Kings cross even though it wouldn't take me much longer than 30 mins to get there . I applied nearly a year ago. Really discouraging.

They gave you a start date then retracted it ? That's terrible

The way it sounded to me was that it was either those dates and now it's been filled with people closer to Kings cross. It seems like it doesn't matter how long you've waited, just how close you are.

Could they possibly be looking at basing you closer to home? I would call them

I got told the same I rang today I live by Clapham Junction got told the same. Next provisional course is now 21st March. The wait continues.

You wouldn't be offered a depot unless you're within travel time so the idea that you live too far away for Depot X in February but close enough in March baffles me. Just going to hope the call backs are positive.

How is the travel distance calculated ? By train for me to get to Bedford can be as little as 14 mins on the fast train or 25 mins otherwise
Driving just over 30 mins, so what are they basing their calculations on ?

So where does that put anybody that's due to re-locate when/if offered a course?

Well I'm 40mins from Bedford station....

Hang on, didn't the job advert state "must be able to travel to your desired depot within one hour"? Also, this was confirmed at interview!?

I emailed and got a response saying I'm still in the talent pool and wait for correspondence informing me of a start date.

Thats ridiculous... Surely has to be a HR blunder somewhere which is why they retracting the dates

I do remember the advert stating that you "MUST" live within 60 minutes of the depot you were applying for.

Blur you're probably right. The distance we live away from our chosen depot won’t affect when we get a call (I hope).

I think we are all panicking over details we don’t know about because like any human being...it’s the fear of the unknown. When the calls come I can guarantee (me included) the smiles on faces will be wide and cartwheels will be attempted

I live 10min walk from my chosen depot, and there's a few people on this thread who were on the same assessment days as me, and have started training.

I honestly don't think distance makes a difference with start dates.

Anyway....lets hope we get some calls today. Happy Friday!

Me too, hard to believe I was away for a weekend filling out my application in Windsor a year ago. If you would have told me when I passed my medical in May I'd still be waiting for a place I would have thought you were talking out your backside.

Maybe 2016 will be the year ! Surely

MTR have given people start dates for the next year.... That would be best practice imo

If things dont improve then we need answers from whoever is in charge of overseeing training or the top ranks in HR.... ????
