Went yesterday with a couple of workmates armed with advance tickets, got in and headed straight for the Dapol stand to pick my NBL Class 22... a lovely little model, well worth the wait. A good atmosphere this year I thought. If the floor space they used was any bigger, the ticket prices would have to go up so they're damned if they do and damned if they don't I guess.
Also picked up several Diesel Hydraulic books including the three newest ones from Strathwood, Irwell Press and Ian Allan, plus a few of the little things I can't get anywhere else, unless ordering online. Nice to see stuff in the flesh and have a chat with the small traders though. We were ready for a pint and a sit down by midday, then went for a slow wander....very impressed by the pre-production Blue Pullman and Class 85 on the Bachmann stand, I'm going to order a BP on the strength of what I saw in the glass case, they really have captured the look of the prototype, especially the subtle shapes of the cabs.
All in all a positive day for me.
