just when you thought this thread had gone away
The pretendolino arrived back at wembley from kilmarnock last night behind an un-identified class 57 (5z41 13:15 kilmarnock to wembley tc)
what was she doing/having done up there?
Believe for this?"Back in time..."
Believe for this?

The platforming looks a bit suspect though?!
The 18:33 is a Liverpool service isn't it?
Does anybody know if the Pretendolino has been out this week at all? The 1833 showed as cancelled on Monday on Real Time Trains and was cancelled yesterday, as was waiting at Euston!
Thanks.
Only working this week has been 1803 Euston-birmingham and 2010 Birmingham-Euston on Monday

There is a Driving Van Trailer situated at the other end of the train that controls the class 90 loco remotely when running in the opposite direction. Standard practice for all West Coast services for fifteen years until the Pendolinos replaced the loco-hauled stock.Since it only has a locomotive at one end, how does it turn around at a place like Euston?
I think you mean the class 90 as it wouldn't exactly be practical if a 91+mark IVs+DVT were hauling a full train
To be fair the class 90 looks similar and the DVTs do too![]()

Usually, the locomotive is at the North end, so it pushes when going South generally, but yes, that is correct. The Intercity 225s employ the exact same method of working. So it pushes going North rather than pulls? Fascinating!
Ah ok , I did think it odd since 225s have a locomotive at both ends normally (probably). I don't really know much about trains themselves, I just travel on them!![]()
