Hi guys

Apologies if this has been covered before but I can't find it.

Does anyone know where I might be able to find a comprehensive list of all driver depots in the UK at the various TOC's?

Thanks in advance for any help! :)

TPE have depots at Preston and Liverpool Lime Street.

I don't think there is a depot at Tweedbank for ScotRail either.

Thank you to godfreycomplex for putting that list together.

Once you lot are happy with it then I'll sticky the thread and if godfreycomplex can update the original post that would be much appreciated.

So feel free to add any more info to this thread relating to drivers roles (not the recruitment stage though please).

I had a feeling TPE Preston was guards only but that may have changed since the franchise switched over. Huddersfield and Harrogate do exist; they are however satellite links of Leeds (on seniority).
There is a depot at Tweedbank; a few units berth there every night and they've advertised a few times

You can add Shenfield to the Crossrail list for drivers. It is already open for business.

Between the parallel lines
Given the list covers more than one grade, I may as well add that the Southern OBS depots are currently Peckham Rye (yes, really), East Croydon and Victoria in the Metro area, and the rest are Horsham, Brighton, Barnham and Eastbourne. The latter three on that list are combined OBS/conductor depots. Selhurst is the only depot to have conductors but no OBSs. Gatwick Express has OBSs based at Gatwick Airport and Redhill, possibly with a few still booking on at Three Bridges (unsure!).

Guards
South West Trains -
Non-commercial Guards - Waterloo; Wimbledon; Strawberry Hill; Staines; Guildford
Commercial guards - all other depots (except Northam which is drivers only). Also top link Waterloo & Guildford
Woking and Staines are depots with both Commercial and Non-Commercial Guards too.

I'm 99.9% sure that London Midland have a guards only depot at Stourbridge Junction. It's only small with a dozen or so staff.

Preston did open as a Guards depot but Drivers followed soon after. It has been both grades since 2013.

Fair enough about the other depots, I wasn't sure.

So they do, forgot that one, cheers
Must be a miserable experience for the Westbury driver taxiing to and fro, unless it's a night turn

Last one down and first one up is worked by a night driver. Second one is a taxi from Westbury. They all seem to like the Weymouth night job

Whilst Northern do have a driver's depot at Darlington, the guards are based down the road in Middlesbrough for some reason, unless that has changed.

ATW is technically two depots at Cardiff - Cardiff Mainline and Cardiff Valleys. Based in the same building with shared management but completely different route cards, some minor differences in T&C' and they're treated as two different depots, not just seperate links within one depot.

Otherwise, very well done - that's an exceptionally concise list!

Oh fair do's, doesn't sound too bad as a night job but if they had to taxi down, prep, shunt and work back it would be awful. Thankfully they don't so it's 2am paddles all round!

Just looking back on the list again, I think Merseyrail have a depot (presumably for both grades) at Southport as well?
