The ScotRail driver training HSTs are all four coaches, and anecdotally are easily outperforming the existing sprinters.
As an example on the steep climb out of Queen St a 170 will do about 35 at the top of the tunnel. The HST is doing almost 60. Absolute rockets.

2+4 HST not out to play this morning presumably an issue with it yesterday at Laira. Replacement unit was 150221.

Looks like 2P85 preceding it ran about 20 late throughout and got canned at Plymouth, crew issue. Hence 2P49 not running either. The diagram seems to be resuming with 2C51?

Spare full size slam door HST on 2E12 0600 Penzance to Exeter this morning as short HST still unavailable. I understand the plan is to swap it out for the short HST later today at Plymouth.

See post #907.
What I meant was, did it get swapped with 150221 yesterday at some point, as 2E12 would normally be formed from the last one down lastnight. Unless the spare hst in question was at pz?

The spare HST was at Penzance, 150219 now covering for the 2+4 HST.

I just passed the 'Castle' set approaching Newton Abbot, which is now on its usual diagram.

Assuming the set is only out to play in the week, what would likely be the plan for it on Bank hol Monday (27th) ?

I saw the 'Castle' set on its usual diagram today, making its lunchtime visit to Penzance.

Don't know if this is correct however heard that from December the current 2+4 HST working will switch to a single Class 802 unit. The 2+4 HST will switch to a different diagram which includes the 1557 Plymouth - Penzance.

Second and third 2+4 sets due before end of the year.

I didn't realise the class 802s we're for anything other than London services???
