I can’t understand the lack of urgency. If they only need 2000 problem free miles surely they would get the set out doing 400 miles a day for 1 week?

Another planet...
Presumably the routing via Hebden Bridge and Wakey/Casvegas is only partly due to those being diversionary routes, but also due to a lack of paths for extra movements via Dewsbury and Standedge.

Cool video! I wonder whether the sardines on the platform are wondering why they're not being let on, before being packed into another 185?
Many thanks for that, I’m pleased you like the video. Haha about those boarding the 185, those trains are often wedged like tube trains;)

Amazing shots SJ! What a great day for them too.
Really pleased you like the pictures, lovely weather! I noticed quite a few TPE staff showing an interest too, I reckon they are looking forward to the new trains (almost) as much as we are!

Looks like they are exploring the diversionary routes although the turn-around at Greetlands Junction is mighty unusual. There is a cross over between there and Elland tunnel. If I saw a picture of the train between Castleford and Church Fenton, I would be beyond impressed.
How about this:)

Yes we are!

(Some of us are anyway, although the oft quoted mantra coming from higher up that these new trains will solve everything that is wrong with TPE is wearing a bit thin...)

Whenever I’ve seen the Nova 3 runs there always seem to be a fair few TPE staff who just ‘happen to be in the area’, which is great to see:)

My observation of TPE performance through York is that it was a complete shambles last summer but is usually pretty good these days.

Anyhow, best of luck with the intro of the new trains:)

Not sure my photos have the same impact, taken at Scarborough station tonight. Serious bit of equipment you must be using.

Rapidly coming to the conclusion that the class 68 is the real star of the show! Almost anything hauled behind them in the same colours would look good, be it class 442s, mark 3 carriages, maybe even mark 2s.WP_20190227_20_00_21_Pro.jpg WP_20190227_19_59_16_Pro.jpg WP_20190227_19_54_56_Pro.jpg

The set has been the victim of a graffiti attack overnight at Scarborough on the DT (Driver Trailer)

On the opposite side from sjpowermac stunning images above

Yes I saw that this morning, I drove past it just before Ravensthorpe. It looked really good until I saw the vandalism. There really are some utter mindless w@#kers in this world.

Thank you for sharing, lovely to see the night pictures.

‘Serious kit’, all pictures taken with iPhone X, the camera works really well.

I agree with you about the Class 68s, 68024 was certainly the ‘Centaur’ of attention;)

What a shame about the graffiti and I completely agree about mindless. It has been a problem in the past, particularly when charter stock has stabled overnight at Scarborough. Hope it cleans off quickly but still deeply annoying.

Yep, they certainly seem to work, do they perhaps have a dipped beam function for when passing trains in the opposite direction? ;)
Haha, good point! Here’s a slightly more distant picture, nobody is going to miss this train arriving;)
