    2023 Elizabeth line fares

Is there anywhere I can find the increased fare for Zone 1 - 9 on the Elizabeth line? All the articles discussing it link to a table that doesn't include fares with the Elizabeth line surcharge. Thanks in advance!

    Passenger working unlisted

Had a report from a friend that he's on board a service not showing in RTT which I thought was surprising, a 1735 (not 1725) from London Bridge to Epsom, first stop Sutton. I can't find any existence of this in raildar or anything like that. Anyone seen anything like this before, where a...

    Anyone heard this before?

I've travelled on Electrostars quite a lot over the years but I've never heard one sound like this, just curious what I'm hearing Presumably a damaged traction motor / gearbox of some kind? Only really affected forward acceleration, wasn't audible during regen or coasting. 377304 if anyone is...

    Direct Waterloo-Aldershot service

Can anyone advise what stock typically operates the 0734 Waterloo - Aldershot service? (2N13). Thanks

    Headlights at rear

The <service removed> (a pair of 315s) departed Brentwood with the headlights on at the rear this evening. Does this mean the tail lights would be on at the front? What would be the potential outcome of this happening? First time I think I've seen it in practice.

    08 Travelling by road

My dad asked me about having spotted an 08 in BR colours on the A1306 near Rainham yesterday afternoon. Does anyone know where this was going and why? Thanks in advance :)

Regulations for noise level at stations?

Waiting for a train at St Pancras low-level this afternoon made me wonder, are there any regulations about the SPL and duration of noise level of regular train operation at railway stations? The noise of trains arriving at the station northbound has got to be getting on for 130dB @1m and lasts...

    Old Stock Completion Dates?

More for curiosity rather than anything useful, but is there any document / resource (even if only in print rather than online, though of course the latter is preferable) that provides more specific dates regarding the introduction dates on rolling stock from before the days of forum threads...

    Class 345 progress

Apologies if this has been posted elsewhere, but I've had a good long search and can't really find much on it. With introduction of the Class 700 and 800 under 2 years away there are already examples of the classes in the country undergoing testing. I realise the 700s are due in service...

    321448 movements

Just spotted 448 around Ilford London-bound behind a 47 and two Arlington translators. Any ideas where it's being taken and what for? Edit: seen from rtt it's off to old Dalby, that just leaves the what for? :)

Absence of London-bound services on Saturdays

Just planning a couple of journeys in the next few weeks and I've been struck by the fact that there is no way of getting from anywhere in the North down to London late on a Saturday evening. Why is this? As an example, the last train down from York to Kings Cross is 8pm on Saturdays, yet a...

    AGA unusual 12-car formation

Among the long queue of units in this afternoon's disruption (losing count now!) I saw something rather odd - a 315 at the front coupled to two 317/7 units behind it. Can anyone explain what this is in aid of? Seen at Romford.

    All-Day Off-Peak tickets

Looking up the various costs for a potential job I might be given next month that sees me up and down the country visiting offices in a dozen or so different cities to install equipment. I spotted with a couple of the journeys an odd ticketing anomaly that's caught my attention before, but I...

    321366/321448/321xxx failure - 1st May

Travelled on: http://www.realtimetrains.co.uk/train/G86933/2014/05/01/advanced on the above units (me in 448 of course), when after what seemed like the anti-slip was being triggered a few times, around Pudding Mill Lane the emergency brakes appeared to be applied - not a pleasant experience...

    Class 387 allocations

I had a quick search for this, but couldn't find anything specific (Not helped by the fact that '387' seems too short a search term for the board!) I was flicking through the wiki article on the 387 and noticed it refers to them only as being used for EMT services from St Pancras to Corby. At...

    Class 345 speculative allocation

Granted, the extension to Reading has upended some of the proposed timetabling, which wasn't final anyway, but doing some basic maths on the crossrail prelim timetable, I'm struggling to identify why they'd need 65 train sets. Working this out from an over-simplified perspective of round trip...

    Crossrail & Overground fares post-takeover

A quick search didn't reveal anything exactly like this, so apologies if this is a repost. Once the short distance routes out of Liverpool Street are under TfL ownership as London Overground and Crossrail respectively, will they fall under the TfL oyster fares section? It would be welcome to...

Experience with 'RT' and on-time performance

After observing that services on one of the two lines I use into london seem to arrive at least 2-3 minutes after they are timetabled almost every day, curiosity got the better of me and I decided to start recording my own RT and 'on-time' performance ratings for my commute into work, whichever...

    How is MTIN calculated?

Had a quick search but I haven't really found anything on this that really explains it to me in a manner I understand. Is the current benchmark (e.g. the golden spanner) miles, or minutes between incident? Furthermore, how is it calculated? e.g. if the best fleet in its class has a rating...
