Thanks Class377/5 and jonmorris0844. I have not, yet, found the needles in the 387 to GN thread.

It all seems so sudden although I vaguely recall it was stated ages ago that the 319s would not be first to leave. So is Hornsey bulging at the seams or have some 317s, 321s, or 365s gone to store/elsewhere ?. I did read that GN will have a net gain of ten 4-car units.

The net gain of 10x 4 cars is due to the fact 19x 377 that were planned to move over is now 29x 387.

319s on TL were never planned to be the first to go. It's was the biggest fleet and the fact SE drivers were on on some services and fact SE couldn't make use of the original 700 diagrams (12 car 700s were driven by Thameslink drivers). Plus the whole training set up meant TL drivers had to be started first due to the sheer volume. It's a long and complex cascade/introduction period.

As for units at Hornsey, think most of the 321 have gone now and some are already in service on GA.

Great news, have GN got 28 387's now, in time for February 2017 stock changeover?

The only actually need 24 - they had 12x 317 and 12x 321 so like for like that would keep the service going. They have no plans to strengthen any existing services, just reduce capacity.

Is Wiki wrong then when it claims GN has 13 class 321
Will not the extra units be need for the half hourly extension to Ely

Electricity Supply issues??
As far as I know there is no issues with the supply of electricity. The only time we haven't had any power, apart from the very regular pre-planned isolations, is when there was a large communications failure with Didcot Electrical Control Room and the OLE control system which resulted in the whole section from Milton - Reading being de-energised as a precaution.

There was an IET test run on Thursday night, 'on the juice'. It was canned after one run to Didcot and back, partly due to multiple axle-counter failures at Pangbourne.

This really needs to be mentioned on the GW Electrification thread.
It is indeed curious there have not been any class 387 tests on the Series 1 test section Tilehurst-Didcot.

Great Northern definitely had thirteen Class 321 units...

For the love of chuff. It was a tongue in cheek comment.

They were repainted by vandals.

Automatic laser tracked rubber bullet cannons, that's what these low security stables need. That'll stop them. ;)

Today's GWR Class 387 daylight delivery has yes... you guessed it... Been caped.

Any news from the depot?

No idea why, it got binned off sometime on Wed pm, nothing our end, must be Freightliner. At this time, Mondays delivery is still a go.

This really needs to be mentioned on the GW Electrification thread.

A 387 (140 has been earmarked) will be out there tonight, departs the TCD around 1 in the morning and does a few trips back and forth to Didcot. If there is time after that, there 'might' be a test run with the 800 on the wires.

Saw a 387 at South Croydon on what was reputedly their last day on Thameslink services but unfortunately I couldn't film it because I pressed the wrong button on my camera :(

4 coach unit running on one of GWR's diagrams today. Do they really not have enough spares for a unit swap? Certainly looks like they do when going past West Ealing!

One is the delivery, a shed plus barrier waggons. The other is just the barrier waggons going back to Crewe.

Also, this just passed Watford Cam on Railcam, and it was a GWR 387 (just a single four car set):

Why would it go to Selhurst?

Due to the recent repainting programme at West Ealing maybe?

There have been a few units graffitied in the last week but this morning, it was ECS units late off West Ealing due to an unadvised isolation and therefore units were unable to be prepped in time for start of service.

What is it with these pests and new trains? 707001 got done over the night it arrived at Clapham.

Did this happen & did anyone get up in the early hours on Sunday morning to get a picture?

Sorry, I chose the warm bed!
